Flower Viewing

Who: ...Lol man anyone ever. Everyone?
What: A very "special" Hanami as noted here
When: Most of Saturday afternoon going into Saturday evening
Where: Ammy's Hill
Summary: The haphazardly planned long-waited Hanami actually happens.
Rating: Bro

Today is the day of the Hanami - the flower viewing - as planned by the SOS-Brigade, and it couldn't be a better day! There might be a cold snap today, but sometime during the early afternoon (because Haruki willed it to be so and I got mod permission) the sun gets out more and the temperature shoots up into a nice spring day. This nice spring day will persist until the sun sets, at which point it will go back to being the cold day it was meant to be today.

So while the weather is nice, you might as well enjoy yourselves! As promised, the set up here is fantastic. On the top of the hill is one giant Sakura tree and four smaller ones along the side leading to the road serving as something akin to a natural (double) torii (you know those old Shinto gate things) leading up to the main tree. All five trees are in bloom, but while the four smaller ones have the pink flowers everyone is familiar with, the top one (the big one on the center of the hill) has darker pink, almost red ones for some reason.

One reason why it might be red is that (buried in the ground) at the base of the biggest tree is a (fake Made in China) human skeleton. It's buried pretty well and thus might not come out at all, but it's there. It is.

Anyway, aside from the flowers, there are other things too! There are three big mats with a large collection of chips, sake, and water in various bowls with cups and such for people. And then towards the center (manned by Haruki and one or three other Brigade members [feel free to assume you character is one of them if you want; it'll probably be in shifts]) is a big collection of burners, pots, pans, and everything you would need to produce dumplings on the spot. And they are making dumplings (usually pork of course) for people there.

As for decorations aside from the flowers themselves... there are various painted things and paintings which some people might recognize as Miyabi's work. There are also more than likely paper lanterns up which'll help once the shadows grow deeper in the early evening. I'm being vague in case Miyabi's player wants to post something specific.

Oh and off on the opposite side of the hill from the four flank-trees (for the kids) is a series of three somewhat normal sized trampolines (for the kids) to make up for the lack of Haruki's promised jump land or giant trampoline.

So that's the setting: ENJOY.

[Naturally, this is action script/commentspam/whatever you kids are calling it these days and naturally like any big meeting post thing is set for full threadjack mode]

Skirts on the women, not on the men! [Hello. That sounds like the perfect picket sign for when the tortured cross-dressed men of the Brigade rebel!] But, uh, an example speech, huh? I generally only did them when something bad was going down but [she hums and then her face becomes fake!serious]

Putting skirts on innocent men is something I just can't stand by and let happen! In the name of the moon, I am Sailor Moon and I will punish you! [insert awesome hand sequence]

[Her cheeks turn red and she gives a shake of her head; Haruki, you're crazy.] That's not--No. No, no, no. No. Skirts are things girls, or Irish--or was it Scottish?--people wear for fashions sake. They're not tease items!

[s-so intense] N-No! That's not the reason at all, Haruki. [how does she explain this to him? She can't, can she? huff]

Look. Girls wear skirts because it looks good, we have nice legs, and the skirts usually fit the way our bodies are shaped. [she moves her hands to form an hourglass shape in the air] Boys aren't shaped like that, and thus skirts don't look good. Plus, most guys have hairy legs and just... [she sticks her tongue out and makes a face]

Body shape. Body shape. Body shape! Guys just don't look good in skirts. [That was a lie. She'd seen a fair few back home, but admittedly she wasn't quite certain when she first saw them if they were male or female!] Guys look best in, y'know, pants. Girls, skirts. Guys, pants. Or shorts, but not short-shorts.

I don't want a guy to look like a girl so that he looks good in a skirt! Guys look good looking like guys! That's why I like guys, because they look like guys and not like girls! [oh, huff]

Short-shorts are for girls. [or gay guys, but she'll leave that out.]

Sure, Haruki, sure. I like my men looking like men, not girls! Just like you probably like your girls looking like girls, not men. Right?

[facepalm] Uh. You are so weird, Haruki. Why can't you just be a normal boy?

[identity profile] themoonuplifts.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll have you know being normal is wonderful!

[identity profile] themoonuplifts.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll have you know that people have died from being magical or special!

[she frowns, and then shakes her head] No, Haruki, just no.

[identity profile] themoonuplifts.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[her expression becomes more serious] I don't think so, Haruki. And even if that is true, how are they supposed to get more abilities? It's not like they run out there and buy them.

Do you know anything about powers?
