What: "Vacation" to the hot springs
When: After this post and some walking.
Where: Uuuh the hot springs!
Summary: Al and Usagi have been planning this a while, and now that thing have settled and the weather has cleared, they're off to enjoy themselves.
Rating: I don't expect over PG-13??


[ They'd been walking for quite a while, but Alphonse was used to walking. Through the forest was better than through the desert. There were no sunburns under the shade of the trees. No lack of water. No sun being particularly angry at him for dare treading in ITS domain.

But, even so, he felt it was time for a rest, and for lunch. Some time to step away from their bored singing and plucking at tall grass and lugging along their bags to set things down, including themselves. ]

Let's take a break. It's not much further now, anyway.

[ He laughs. ] Back in your day? You'd think they'd make something more effective by your time.

[ Al crouches near the edge of the water and slips his hand in. He smiles. ] It's really warm. More than a bath. Geothermic heat... it's pretty fascinating.

[ Insert raspberry here. She isn't super far in the future! ]

[ She takes a quick swig of her water, and hovers over him. ] Geo-what-heat?

[ That just gets him laughing again. ]

Geothermic. It means that the earth heats the water on its own. Basically, the rocks deep down in the earth, where the groundwater's coming from, is heating the water.

[ She lets out a quiet Oh, and then nods her head. ]

I never would've guessed. [ She nudges the back of his head a little. ] I wonder how much you fit in there!

I don't know... as much as I can, I guess. I try my best to keep up with Big Brother. With all I've read and learned about here, I might even be ahead of him, now... but he'll catch up quickly, if he ever shows. I know him.

[ He stands and stretches. ] So, let's set ourselves up, and then we can eat... and a little later, we can test the waters!

[ She laughs. Why so cute, Al? She leans back on her heels when he stands before she turns and heads back to her bags. ]

All right! Set up, set up, set up! And then food! [ She wiggles in place for a moment. ]

[ He starts pulling out some fabric and sticks from one of his few bags. He lays them on the ground and takes a thinner stick to start drawing a circle. ]

We'll have to be careful where we keep the food, or something else will eat it.

[ She'll watch him from a far, and stomp a foot. ]

Not if I can help it! Those critters aren't taking my food! I won't let them!

[ He completes the circle and smiles a little. ]

Don't hurt them too badly.

[ Then he claps his hands and places them on the circle... after some light and shifting, a nice tent is left in the place of the materials. ]

[ She lets out an ooh as his alchemy, momentarily distracted before getting right back on topic. ]

I won't! As long as they don't take my food!

[ He looks over the tent and makes sure it's steady -- sometimes his alchemy messed up, in this place, and looked at her. ]

We'll make sure it's closed up tight.

All right! [ She will not hesitate to chase animals from her food, as long as it's not a bear. She finally claps her hands together. ]

Tent is up! Can we eat now?

[ He stands up again and nods to her. ]

Yep! Time to eat. There's sandwiches for lunch, today.

[ She goes to their bags and shuffles through them, it hardly takes her long for her to locate their lunch, but before she pulls them out, she takes out a thin blanket it and lays it on relatively even ground. ]

The perfect place for a delicious lunch!

[ He nods, walking over to the blanket, brushing out a few of the wrinkles. ]

We lucked out with the weather getting better, finally.

It had to be better sooner or late, don't you think? [ She takes a seat, and places their lunches on the blanket. ]

I'm glad it was sooner rather than later, though!

That's true. In this place, you can at least anticipate sunny weather. I was getting impatient, though. [ He sits down near her. ]

We've been there so long... it's nice to feel like we're getting a break.

Isn't it? It kind of feels like it's just us, right now, no one else. I like this feeling.

Yeah, me too. We don't get to really be alone a lot, after all. The village is so populated, I don't think many people do.

It's so different than how it used to be. [ But that may have been because the two of them, essentially, had lived by themselves. Now they've got full houses. ]

Yeah... but, really, I don't mind it. Not one bit.

It's nice having the people we care about here, huh? It doesn't feel so lonely anymore.

I never thought I'd see anyone but Brother again, so getting this chance... it's really great.
