Draft Log #3: During v. 2.0

Day 3, cargo ship/beach

[Sheena and storms of this magnitude do not get along well. At first she opted to stay on the ship, fighting off attackers despite the rain and the feeling of her nerves building to panic. It's not clear what happens then - an encounter near the rail of the ship - but suddenly she's not on it anymore. Not too long later, though, she will wash up on the shore near one of the docks.]

Days 4 and 5

[This scout is scouting. She'll take up helping unload/transport cargo whenever she can, too. Unlike last time, what she's really looking out for now is the (relative) safety of the people who can't really fight. Though she may get curious enough to venture into the woods, once or twice...]

day 3

[Well, at least Sheena is in luck, near where she washes up there happens to be someone who at least has a very good idea of what to do, and probably did something stupidly similar many years ago when he was a kid.

Piers will go ahead and pull her out of the water and check her over. His main concern first off is if she's actually breathing since he has no idea how long she was in the water.]

[She's breathing, but unconscious. She actually did quite a bit of swimming to get nearer to shore, after the shock from the fall wore off. Something happened between the swimming and now, though. Did a stray current slam her into the ground, or into one of the docks? Was it one of the numerous angry sea creatures around?

The first option is looking the more likely. There's a nasty bruise and set of cuts on the right side of her face]

[Good, he's glad she's breathing, but he definitely doesn't like the appearance of those cuts. Still, nothing he can't handle at least and he'll go ahead and use Ply on them to get those to heal up quickly enough.]

[It's a little worse than just one Ply's worth. And when she does finally come to, she'll have the headache to end them all.

Before then? Some soldiers are going to take interest in him.]

[And he's about to make use of Ply again to finish the job, but then he spots the soldiers. Normally, he'd try to fight them off alone, but well injured person takes precedence in his mind. He doesn't know enough about the extent of her injuries to leave her while he deals with them.

So instead he's going to use Teleport psynergy to get them to some cover. They won't be going far, just to the edge of the nearby forest so she has some cover while he deals with them.]

[Yes. Do go deal with them. Sheena would help if she could, but right now she couldn't defend herself from a feather.]

[And after he makes sure Sheena is well concealed behind a tree, and he'll leave one of his djinni behind to keep watch on her. Once he's assured she is safe and well-concealed he will head off to deal with them. And by deal with them, that would be lots of ice until they aren't moving any longer.]

[While he makes Third Party popsicles? Sheena's not even going to move. His Djinni of choice is going to be very bored.

She'd approve of the ice barrage, though. These guys are really getting on her nerves.]

[He doesn't care if his djinni is going to be bored, he wants a warning in case any come from the forest to attack.

Anyway, it won't be too long before he returns after making a few Third Party popsicles. They are getting on his nerves too. And the first thing he'll do is finish up that healing job he was interrupted on.]

[A few minutes after that Ply is finished, she starts to wake up. The way it starts is with a hoarse groan and a whole lot of coughing.]

[At least she is awake, that is a good thing. he also knows that coughing after an unwilling swim in the sea like that isn't strange. It will get rid of any water that got in her lungs. He'll give her a few minutes before speaking.]

You are definitely lucky I saw you wash up. [Really lucky especially with soldiers showing up while she was still out, but he'll keep quiet on that, no need to concern her right now. Though he did forget to set his djinni again after coming back, so that is likely also a curious little sight.]

[She can't do much more than stare at him at first. Lying on her side facing him, and still occasionally coughing, and trying to make the drumming in her head quiet down]

Wash up? [that would explain why she's soaked...]

[It is a very good thing that Raine was too preoccupied on Day 3 to not realize what happened to Sheena -- it likely wouldn't have helped her previous condition.

In any case by the later days, she'll be more available to help, which suits her needs. Might be overdoing it, but that's probably expected.]

Evening 4

[By the end of this day...well. It's been a very long day. Sheena fought where she could, and found good places to hide when she couldn't. She hasn't even seen Raine - that she remembers - since taking the quick jump route off the ship.

She's decided, if she does see her though, to just tell her what's going on inside her head and be done with it. ...So why, when she spots the half-elf at the end of the day, is her first thought to go and hide somewhere?]

[She can choose to run and hide, or she can approach. Raine will greet her with a wave, at least, as she looks around the area. Checking to make sure that really was the last of the enemies.]

[A hesitant wave back. Sheena is just sitting. Sitting is good and it might get Raine's attention without looking like she's come to confess to fighting in less than able shape.

Looking like the cat that ate the canary does not help.]

[Once she deems the area relatively safe (and no one is in range for her to help, she'll approach Sheena herself when the woman doesn't seem to be making any moves to do so.

... Which seems off, for her, especially considering the previous days. Or so Raine notes. But it's also been a long day and she hadn't seen her at all for the previous one.]

How are you holding up?

[A very slow blink up at Raine, before she looks away to answer]

It could be a lot better.

[Well that was very telling.]

Where are you hurt?

[corrinesbell]

I just have...the world's worst headache ever.

[and some superficial scrapes. She's just too tired now to keep pushing.]

It- it makes me dizzy. [That was not a whine. Not. ...Okay maybe.]

... then you probably shouldn't be out here. [But a healing spell will be cast anyway, just because she knows that there are other wounds she's not mentioning, and exhaustion that could use a refresh.]

The medical center's not too far away. You can take something that will help you rest.

I didn't wanna be out here. [Maybe it really is a whine.]

Most of the time I can think through it and- [then the spell hits her; she closes her eyes and her shoulders slump forward. There shouldn't be anything wrong! It should be fine, she'd slept the night before and been healed already and it's not like she was all that hurt anyway, just a little waterlogged. Right?]

When did it start? [Not scolding, exactly, but if she's reacting like that, she needs to know what she can do about it. Not that she's surprised Sheena's not being forthcoming.]

Yesterday after- a-after we landed.

[But she should be forthcoming, since she made up her mind to do so.]

I, uh...something happened. [a frown. How to convince Raine that she really and truly can't remember enough details to explain it?] There was...I fought up on the ship and then.

[She looks from side to side without meeting Raine's eyes. Like she's searching the corners of her vision for the next part.]

Then I was on the- no, then I was swimming.
