Who: Anyone who wants to come!
What: Autumn (Equinox) Celebration
When: Today, at 9PM to Midnight (and maybe even after)
Where: Around the Rec Center
Summary: Brigade party! There's food! There's lights! There's music! There's fireworks!
Rating: A for Abacus

There were lights! Autumn-appropriate decorations! There were tables of food (though very little of it is vegetarian friendly)! There was even a stage for music and entertainment! Still waiting was the fireworks to take place at midnight, but otherwise things were set up to more or less respectable Brigade standards. Maybe Haruhi hadn't done it herself, but it was done well enough, thanks to the efforts of being coordinated by Mikage.

The stage was left open for anyone to perform that wanted to. The karaoke machine had been dragged outside for people to sing along to, regardless of talent, or otherwise just to play music when no one was on stage. Naturally inside the Rec Center itself is a variety of pool tables, foosball, air hockey, and a TV with some video games. Just enough to keep things a little fun. If only there was a pool.

I'm quite glad of it. Rather a strange place, though... A friendly reception helps, I'd say.

[Mac's expression grows increasingly sober.] Yeah...

[Finding himself in Malnosso captivity not long ago, he has yet to shake off the uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach especially after sun-down, when he lays his head down on his pillow and stares at the wall, just hoping he won't be dragged back. He sleeps these days in snatches; hopefully this will improve with time.]

It can be kinda scary sometimes. [His thoughts drift briefly to Ami, and her help at the clinic.] But it ain't all bad. It's nice, lookin' out an' watchin' the sun go up.

[Anthony nods slightly.]

It helps, I imagine, to have friends.

[The words are leaving his lips before he realizes it.]

Friendship is everything.

[Lifting his head, he glance at Anthony after a moment.]... Y'know, I don' hear many adults sayin' stuff like that. 'ts like they're embarrassed or somethin'.

I have heard a shocking amount of people who seem to assume that once you reach some magical age, you are suddenly "independent."

I have found quite the opposite. As one gets older, one has more and more need for one's friends.

Are any a' your buddies here? ...Hey, wait - maybe you can check for 'em at the Welcome Center! Mr... uh... Giles - that's it - he showed me a big book where y'can check out the names a' everybody in Luceti. Then there's a book where you can write a lil' somethin' t'somebody who ain't around so if they ever show up, they got somethin' nice t'read.

I woke up with two of them here, thankfully. Guy [it takes some looking to find the small man, but he points him out] and Kim [at the billiard table... chatting up a girl already, not surprising], whom I am certainly relieved to know are, at least, here with me.

That's real nice. Guess they feel the same way, huh?
