Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY

It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

[Congratulations Sheik, you have mastered sand castles 101. Zelda marks out the areas for other towers, attending to smaller details herself. Sure, it's not a work of art, but the basic shape is starting to come together!]

This space in here would be the courtyard. I spent a lot of time there.

[He looks at the layout. It seems so much less complex and horrific than Ganondorf's citadel. Plain, almost.]

Was it beautiful?

It was. It was primarily white, with blue roofing... everything around it was so green, too. So different from how it became.

[She smiles.]

I will rebuild it.

I hope it will become more beautiful, then. [He will never see it.]

Sheik... do you think there's a way to go back and forth between home and Luceti? Has anyone ever done that before?

[She doesn't want to just leave Link and Sheik here, but she has to go back.]

[His expression changes to one of sadness. He's watched this cycle a very long time.] There is a way, but none control it. Some people come and go. Sometimes they remember, sometimes they do not. There have been stories of those that return home, only to come here again, but they say they do not remember Luceti in their home. It is almost as if this place were not meant to exist.

Don't say it like that... the memory loss upon leaving might be a defensive measure that those who run this place have set up. I wouldn't say that it isn't meant to exist.

I wonder. [He often wonders.] To protect our homes, perhaps.

This is a place that is outside of time as we know it, after all. The spells on it are so complex... maybe once we are outside of the spell, we simply can't comprehend it and we forget.

[That makes her reach for Sheik's hand. She doesn't want to forget that he's here and he's okay when she has to go back to Hyrule.]

Maybe that is so. [He takes that hand into both of his and holds it close. He doesn't want to forget either, even after he dies.]

Sheik, do you think...

[She pauses. Would he even accept that?]

Do you think that if you held the Triforce, you would be... alright? Would it keep you stable?

[He immediately shakes his head.] You cannot think about things like that. The pieces have already chosen their bearers.

[He glances away.] I seem to be stable enough. I have my own form. My own body. That is more than I ever had.

[It's too hard to say that she'll miss him when she has to go, so she doesn't. Instead, she smiles a little.]

You should take care of it, then. You're so thin! Your pants shouldn't be tight on me, you know. Look, there's some food over there - let's go get some!

Ah- Zelda. [Wait up! He doesn't eat these things usually. Does he have to?]

[Yes he DOES have to. She's going to attempt to put together a hamburger for both of them, though she's not sure what the condiments are.]

Are you supposed to put all these things on?

No, wait. Only what you wish to put on it. [He learned about this recently. He can handle hamburgers! He points out a couple of things that aren't too messy or too frightening to a princess' palate.] What would you like to try?

I'm not sure, really... the red thing?

[She sounds a little sheepish. It feels silly to not even know what to eat by herself.]

Ketchup. It is a sauce made from tomatoes. It is a little spicy, but it is mild. [Don't worry Zelda, he can help. He knows these things.]

That will be fine, then.

[She manages to get it onto her burger without a mess. After a little consideration, she takes some lettuce too. That's enough for her! Now you better get one for yourself, Sheik.]

[Sheik's is similarly plain, with a little lettuce, a tomato and a little bit of pepper.]

Shall we go sit?

[Zelda finds a spot to sit down, whether it's on a stray towel or a picnic table. She takes a bite of the hamburger, looking pleased.]

It's actually quite good, I'm surprised.

Mm. It is not my favorite. [But he'll eat it. He isn't one for meals primarily consisting of meats. He'd rather eat other things.]

What is your favorite?

[She's looking up at him intently. Opportunity to learn about Sheik without looking too awkward? She'll take it.]

[Hmm. He has to think about that.] Nothing specific. I have become quite taken with Japanese style dishes, though.

[He's become very fond of it.] It is food from Tsuzuki and Hisoka's home.

Do they make it for you sometimes? I have not gotten to speak with either of them much, yet. Tsuzuki seems like a nice person, though.

[She leans towards him slightly while she's talking, though she's careful to not drip any ketchup on him.]
