Summary: IT'S A SUMMER PARTY

It's cold out there today, isn't it? Sure, it's not snowing but once you get into the Battle Dome, it'll be comfortably warmer. Warmer, not warm. Follow the tiny paper arrows and you'll probably find yourself in, well...summer!

It certainly looks convincing enough (a pool, a volleyball court, deck chairs, everything that you'd think you'd find at a pool party) and feels convincing enough (take off that coat! Aren't you hot?) so why not not step in? The barbecue's sizzling and there's some nice cold drinks at the cooler.

C'mon in, the water's awesome!

I guess that makes sense. I don't... feel a whole lot older than you. Or that much younger.

[Sudden giggling.]

Age seems to be difficult to quantify, anyway. Sheik seems older than both of us, but we're twice his age!

[He huffs a laugh at that.] Maybe it's 'cause the other Sheikah was already an adult. So he kind of... got adult-ness from him.

...adult-ness?

[Now she's giggling hopelessly. What sort of word is that, Link?]

I think it might be a Sheikah trait, too! Impa always made that same face.

[She linefaces at Link before giving in to the giggles again.]

[It's a perfectly good word! Link does try to stifle the laugh, but doesn't quite make it.]

Being serious all the time? I guess so! I wonder what he would have been like if he was a kid?

I think he would be a little mischievous! That is just my opinion, of course.

[It's entirely possible she just hopes that. It seems so sad, for Sheik to always be serious!]

[...Sudden memory, actually.] He was, once! During a weird experiment, and I don't remember all of it. But he was kind of mischievous.

During an experiment, hmm? He turned into a child, then?

[She's curious, but she still doesn't like the sound of these experiments.]

Uh huh. But that one was really weird... [He does not want to mention what happened to Tsuzuki.] ...We swapped places. I was the Prince of Hyrule and I remembered you as the Heroine of Time.

Really? That's a little difficult to picture. Not that I would mind having some of the skills you do!

It was really weird! I was really good at magic, but I wasn't as good with a sword any more. [He tilts his head curiously.] I was pretty good with a bow, though. Did you do archery when you were younger?

A little bit, yes! I rather liked it, but I haven't had a chance to practice. It's a shame really, it's an excellent weapon to use if you're a mage what with the long distance aspect and all.

I'm afraid that I'm quite terrible with fencing, though. I certainly tried, but I don't have a knack for it. I'm sorry if it caused you any trouble.

Oh - it's okay! [Sword skills wouldn't have exactly helped, given what Tsuzuki turned in to.] So you want me to teach you? Either of them, I guess.

You wouldn't mind? I know I'm already a lot of trouble for you and Sheik...

[He seems to not mind the idea, though!]

It's fine! I already teach others - that's what I usually do here. [He grins a little.] Do you want to learn just one or both?

Perhaps just archery. I'm afraid that close combat would not do me much good, anyway.

[She sounds a little sheepish.]

If you're already teaching other people, that is.

Yeah, I am! I normally do lessons for about two hours a week - but we can do more, if you want to.

No, a couple hours is fine! I'm sure you have a lot of things to attend to. I would only need more than that if we were going to learn horseback archery.

[She pauses, then looks at him curiously.]

Is Epona here?

Uh huh! [Expression completely lighting up, here.] That's where I go in the mornings and evenings - to look after her. She lives in the stables near community house seven and house forty-two - that's where Albert and Raine live, they have animals there too.

Oh, good! I'm glad she's here with you. I'm sure she's glad, too!

[Zelda takes her hand back, fussing with the Zora tunic.]

I'd like to see her sometime.

[Oh... right. They were still holding hands. Link fidgets with his t-shirt a bit.]

Sure. Do you want to come see her tonight? That's when I brush her down and everything.

I would like that. I never really got the chance to meet her properly.

[No, the only memories she had of Epona were vague ones of Sheik's, of Link playing that song on the ocarina...]

Okay. I bet she'd like you! She only really liked me and Malon at first, but she's met a lot of people in Luceti.
