What: Silver issued a battle challenge to Gold, who accepted.

Where: The Battle Dome
Summary: Gold and Silver have been in Luceti together for a year and yet have never had a single Pokémon battle. Deciding it's time to rectify, they head off to the Battle Dome to throw down!
Rating: PG? I mean, it's Pokémon...
[Gold had been anxiously waiting for this day. Sure, the standard format for Pokémon battles involved just battling whenever your eyes meet, but if they did that, there'd be constant battles all day, every day. Therefore, these things had to be planned.

...Besides that, Silver was his rival. Always has been, always will be. That makes this battle special. A battle to settle old scores... No, a battle to determine who's the best trainer out of the two of them, and furthermore... To show everyone just how it's done.

It was time. Their battle lies ahead.]

Heheh, they were pretty mad. But I tried not to bother them for too long, or to make friends with them.

We've talked. That wolf is way too intense, even for me. And I probably shouldn't be riding animals that are actually guardian spirits, anyway.

Yeah, that wolf did not have kind things to say about humans.

Most don't show her what she perceives as proper respect - for herself and the forest. Wolves are territorial.

I see, just like a wolf-bat. I do understand the need to protect nature. It's also the way some of the spirits back home act.

I hear most are troublesome like-

[It's at this point in the Pokemon battle below that Gold's Explotaro's flames die down only to unleash some electricity against Silver and his pokemon, pulling Shikamaru's attention back to it.]

Oh that'll smart.

[All talk of spirits is wiped from his brain. Aang leans forward anxiously in a mix of concern and dread. It doesn't help that a person was hit by it too. He freezes up as he remembers exactly what it feels like.]

[Shikamaru is half-watching the fight, and half-watching Aang. His reaction sort of reminds him of Katara's, that night she saw him practicing with Tsinku.

He doesn't bother speaking again until Silver and Feraligatr are getting back up.]

Tch. Those guys are made of tough stuff.

[Aang's still in shock, and he blinks when he notices that Silver and the Feraligatr have stood up. Shikamaru's words pass through his ears. Instead he speaks, barely over a whisper.]

They... they made it.

They're friends. I doubt they'd actively try to kill one another.

[He nods slowly.]

Yeah... yeah, I know, you're right. That just looked... really dangerous.

That's probably the idea.
