[Artemis lands her jump on the sidewalk, having hopped down from the rooftop she'd been scouting from. Tonight was eerily quiet so far and she'd been sure there'd been no one in the vicinity to notice her descent. So when the voice came out of seemingly nowhere, she tenses, cautious and alert, instinctively bringing her crossbow up to aim in the direction of the sound. She's dressed in the green costume that hid her identity, high boots and frilly skirt and all, a small quiver slung over one shoulder.]

I think that's my question, actually. Show yourself.

[degleamed]

[ Rapunzel has no weapon, armed only with her unfaltering cheerfulness and power of song. She steps into the light, glancing at the weapon and raising a hand. ]

Do not be afraid! I am a friend. It is I, Sailor Sunshine!

Sailor... Really? [Artemis straightens, propping her hands on her hips as she regards the other girl with a skeptical look. Sunshine. Honestly.

She sighed, tucking her crossbow away again.]

I'm Artemis. Just Artemis.

[Because yes, she was still bucking tradition and lacking a title to complete this... whatever it was. Even if she hadn't yet figured out how to get rid of the skirt.]

[degleamed]

[ Her attacks would have equally silly names. ]

Not...Sailor Artemis? [ Is that even possible? Man, maybe she doesn't know this magical girl protocol as well as she thought. ]

No. No, definitely not. [Artemis shakes her head stubbornly.] I'm still working on the name thing. Do I look like a sailor? I don't even like boats.

[degleamed]

[ She taps her chin. ] I hadn't even thought about that, actually. This was just the name that felt right.

Yeah well. I've never been very good at doing what I'm supposed to. [Artemis's voice is wry at the confession, one hand lifting to rub at the back of her neck in an absent gesture of self-consciousness.] But I'm sure it works fine for you. Even if... why Sunshine?
