fleurdesel: right, work, serious, (Picking at the puzzle)

We built this city on rock and roll

Who: Adele LeBlanc, Derek Bliss, gawkers, assistants, and whoever wants to help or mock
What: Building a beach house (not actually on the beach)
When: June 12th - 15th
Where: The Beach
Summary: A house is built, there's a bonfire at night and food provided for those that helped.
Rating: PG-13 for potential language

[After a brief posting the day before on the journal network mentioning the construction project, it's location, and offering a meal in return for work, Adele assists Derek in moving the supplies they've collected since picking the site and in the initial set up. Knowing little to nothing of construction she follows his lead every step of the way, breaking off only to set up water or a quick meal for them in between shifts of planing wood, cutting trim and hammering nails.

It takes time to get it built, but the end of each work day is met with a small or large bonfire, a hot meal, and cool drink.

And at the end there may very well be a house.]

Any day really

[Sabriel doesn't have any idea what is required to build a house really, but the more hands there are to help the better, right? Not to mention the hard work would help take her mind off of things. She's a keen worker, listens well to instruction and generally gets the job done minus a few hammered fingers now and then.

In the mornings when she arrives Sabriel makes sure to bring either a large bottle of iced tea or lemonade and some sandwiches for Adele and whoever else shows up to work. When the work is done for the day she might be found closer to the water, either sitting in the sand of the beach or wading through the shallow depths. Adele had the right idea, making a house out here.]

"Woman! Sandwich! I'm all full of holes, here, with my innards a-leaking on the sand!"

He wasn't really full of holes. He was just very hungry, is all, from all the hard work.

"You look pretty whole to me, Captain."

Hole-y or not Sabriel swings by with a sandwich and a glass of lemonade and offers them both to the pirate. Honestly she hadn't expected to see Jack there but where else would you find a pirate if not by the sea?

"What sort of sandwich is it, then?" Apparently hungry pirates weren't hungry enough to not be picky. "It doesn't have mayonnaise on it, does it? Mayonnaise is of the devil. Comes right out of Satan's left nostril."

"No mayonnaise, just mustard with ham, lettuce and tomato. I guarantee there is nothing in it that would have come from anyone's left nostril."

"I'll take it then!" As though he wouldn't have, otherwise. "Though I've a secret to tell you. A secret about sandwiches."

"Is that so?" Passing over the sandwich she takes a seat by him and sets the glass in the sand for him to take.

"Peanut butter," he whispered -- a rather strange, seductive tone in his voice. "And jelly."

Her lips twitch into a smile and she tries hard not to laugh. Instead she returns this secret with a conspiratorial nod and whispers, "Ah yes, I am well familiar with them."
