Birthday wishes

What: Rin's Birthday

Summary: Shiemi is throwing Rin a birthday party. She's doing most of the setting up, but Rin was kind enough to cook for his own party. We don't want Shiemi killing anyone.
Rating: PG-13 at most I think.


Plants and heat lamps litter the living space of House 15, but they're all decorated in Christmas style. Baubles and shiny tinsel-like garland hand from bushes that range from fruit bearing to thorny. What might be most notable is that Mistletoe can be found almost everywhere. Shiemi saw people kissing under it a couple times, and despite it being a poisonous plant, if people really liked it that much then it should be at the party! The girl collected a lot of it, so people are bound to run into it! Feel free to get your grub on with Rin's homemade dishes, give out some kisses, or brag about the presents you did or did not get the Son of Satan.

Food Table

[Kurt spends a lot of his time at the food table. He may not be the best company given Storm's departure - but he tries to cover that by stuffing his face with food.]

[Hinata brought a few treats from what she made at the bakery that morning with her and put it on the table when she spotted the blue young...man eating like a person possessed.

She had a feeling that she had met him before now. After a moment of thinking, she remembered him vaguely from the time where their lives were changed by the Third Party and they'd been "friends".]

It has been a while, Kurt-san. How are you doing?

[With a tray of freshly prepared food in her hands, Selphie carries the food over with a great deal of care. She's learned to dodge the heat lamps, plants and cords running rampant but she's still watching her feet for the most part.]

Shiemi, where do you want me to put this tray?

U-um! Wherever there's room? I think at the corner of the table on the other end. Thanks so much for helping.

[Duck had gotten a lot more comfortable being here, but she was still far from knowing that many people here. At least she had met both Shiemi and Rin before.

Right now she's kind of hiding by the food table, examining the spread with no particular interest.]

[In addition to bringing a present for Rin, Grune made sure to bake a nice batch of sugar cookies for his party. She'll be setting them down amidst all the other food and then going to see what the other guests brought.]

Presents Table

[On Christmas, a present from "Santa" would have been left either at the door or inside the house if the ninjas were able to slip in. Either way, Rin's present is a set of new cooking supplies and maybe a new apron.

And now, on his birthday, it's time for his actual present from Lee. As a karmic reward for his own birthday party, Lee prepared a very spicy curry dish of his own to add to the food spread.

There's also an actual wrapped present. Why yes, that's right. It's Rin's very own green jumpsuit.]

[ As he opens the green jumpsuit... the look on his face widens. And then pales in horror. WHY? What is... WHY? ]

[Okay, so he DIDN'T burn the present like he said he was. But, Rin's Christmas present counts as his birthday present.

It's just a figurine of a Dragon riding a motorcycle. That's cool, right?]

[Not only has Hinata brought some freshly baked treats, but she has also put together a recipe book of things that she commonly had back in Konoha. She has also included her mother's recipe for nizakana, the one that Sakura-san liked so much, and also for red bean mochi.

She hopes that he will like it. It was a little personal, but things between them were complicated at best.]

[Shu got Rin some music for his birthday. Hopefully Rin enjoys pop and techno. The Cd's are wrapped neatly and tied together with a ribbon.

He also cooked a few bento boxes for the party. You always need food. ]

[ He isn't sure he likes it or not! But then he tries to remember if there's a CD player in the house so he could put them on not for the party... And there isn't. He'll have to look into that later.

But he does seem briefly confused and then pleased by it.

More importantly though, he tracks down Shu a bit later after that thing with Shiemi to lightly hit him in the back of the head ]

Don't make my party so awkward, man.

MISTLETOE

[It seems that Kurt can't take two steps in this house without ending up under mistletoe; sometimes he winds up teleporting right under one. But what effect is it, and where in the house? Why don't you tell me that one!]

[ Rin is stuck under it with numerous people too. Like where? Could it be by the tacky couch? Next to this big ugly stuffed bear? Next to a thorn bush? In the kitchen? At the bathroom door? In his room?

[She'd just wanted to check on Rin while he was in the kitchen cooking his own food for his own party. She was going to offer her assistance when she spotted him standing in the doorway, looking a little irritated.]

What...what is the matter, Rin-kun?

[Pilouette doesn't even notice the mistletoe at first and is unaware that he's even stuck. She's wanted to try and be more casual with her friends and she figures this is a good time to start. Intending to emulate one of his own actions, she quietly walks up, unknowingly gets right under the plant alongside him and gives him a light slap on the back.]

Hey! Um, having a good birthday so far?

[Look who doesn't understand the concept of a mistletoe or really know what it is. Duck will most likely be under it constantly without even realizing it.

Have fun with that.]

[ Quite.

Rin was just trying to go and get some more somethings to drink, and now he can't move.

[Shiemi is literally running around to make sure everything is perfect. No doubt she'll run into almost everybody and a bunch of mistletoe while trying to set things up, or ask people if they need a refill on drinks or food. She wants to be the best hostess so Rin has a great party!! So why not forget kissing the cook, and smooch a hostess?]

[Shu got himself stuck under the mistletoe by chance. There were so many decorations around he ended up getting tangled in garland.

He made sure that he wouldn't get stuck under a mistletoe and it happened anyways. So much for staying cautious.

Kissing other people is a pretty harmless ordeal so he doesn't mind it all that much. Help?]
