Who: Gai, Elizabeth, and all invited (and possibly some uninvited) guests
What: A wedding!
When: Just before sunset on June 30th
Where: The beach
Summary: Finally, after much planning, pre-wedding jitters, and ice cream consumed, this is it. The big day. Gai and Elizabeth are finally getting married. (Never mind the fact they've been technically married since the draft... shhhh.)
Rating: Keep it G, people, this is a public venue.

[The ocean has returned, the day is clear and sunny, and wedding fever is back in the air.]

[This time the location is the beach, and between the setting sun, the waves, and the decor there is no lack of ambiance. little battery-powered votives in paper lanters litter the space, and larger lanterns line a yellow petal aisle that leads up to a decorative arch with a few chairs. Over to the side is the reception set up, which looks like it can accommodate more guests than the ceremony. Frames draped with chiffon and lit with little electric light strings indicate both food and bar/drink areas, and similar setups surround both small and large tables for seating, lit both with electric lights and votives in varying glass jars. And of course, there’s music and an open floor for dancing.]

((OOC: Close CR/specifically invited friends are welcome at the ceremony, but the party is definitely for anyone who wants to come see the spectacle or welcome back the ocean! ♥ ))

[He's way ahead of her, already leaning to support her as she dips. Really, Elizabeth, did you think he couldn't read your body language by now?]

It'll be the 'city of love' when we're there. We can at least lend them a helping hand in that department.

[Not really, but she's taking the lead from him for a moment just to be a little silly. Elizabeth hangs there for a few moments.] Ah, enough love for a whole city. Think we can make time for the Eiffel Tower?

[He laughs, allowing her to stay posed like that for as long as she wants. Being silly is definitely the order of the moment, if what he says next is any indication.]

I'm not sure you want to know where my mind just went when you said that.

Wait, what? [Elizabeth pulls herself up, half-smiling, half-curious.] No, what were you thinking?

Think about the Eiffel Tower for a moment.

[Just think about it.]

Alright?

[She's thinking about it, and looking blank.]

Think about its shape.

[He'll walk her through this one if he has to, if only because the look on her face will be so worth it.]

...it's tower-shaped, yes... Iron trellis, slightly oxidized...?

[WHAT IS SHE MISSING HERE.]

Think about other things that can be hard and upright.

[It is a struggle to keep a straight face, but he is trying his best.]

[OH GOD.]

Oh God! [Elizabeth pulls herself up and tries to put her fingers over Gai's mouth before someone she loves hears what they're talking about.]

Gai, shh! [Her face on realization was horrified and shocked, but now she's struggling not to laugh as she puts her finger to her lips to try to avoid catastrophe.]

[Even if no one had noticed their conversation before, they're no doubt attracting attention with the amount of laughter going on between them now. Her reaction was every bit as entertaining and adorable as he'd hoped it would be, and just because he's feeling downright terrible right now, he lets his tongue slide out between his lips just enough to give those fingers over his mouth the swiftest brush before she can realize what he just did.]

Oh you didn't just--! [He totally did though, and she should have seen it coming. At least it was barely visible to the average onlooker.]

I'm going to give you such a sock when we get to the ship! [Of course, for looking so "angry", Elizabeth sure was leaning back onto Gai and swaying with him again.] Making jokes like that during our first dance, then doing what you just did... I can't take you anywhere!

I thought I proved that much on our very first date.

[His arms settle back into place around her as if they weren't doing anything more than simply dancing. Which, for the moment at least, happens to be the truth.]

And yet you married me anyway.

Yes well... you're pretty, what can I say? [She sways along with him, still smiling, looking almost giddy despite the content of their joking around.]

I hope you married me for more than just that.

[A beat.]

And my Eiffel Tower.

[A beat.]

You are ruining Paris for me, Gai. And that is a feat.

Should I be proud of this or not?

[He'll be proud either way.]

No, bad Gai. [She leans in conspiratorily, laughs and has to back off, then comes back in.] Until you can speak French to me in bed, you are not allowed to call it your 'Eiffel Tower'.

Challenge accepted. And I'll make sure it's something better than terrible pick-up lines from a book.

Maybe a translation of something from a romance novel...

[He is so asking for it with that one.]

You better watch it, Mister-- [She points at him, going straight for the nose.] Otherwise the next time I see your 'tower', I'm going to laugh. Same with the next time you try to speak French.

Then I'll just have to make sure you don't have any reason to laugh at it.

[And he lets his voice dip down low into that register as he says this...]

You better make it good then, I make no promises and I'm not going to keep a straight face out of pity.

[She bites her lip.] We really have to wait until everybody leaves?

Really.

[Leaning in, he brushes a soft kiss to her lips.]

Of course, one of us could pretend to get sick with something potentially contagious...

Ebola?

That one might be a little hard to fake.

[And he's not sure he wants to try, either.]
