Iiiiit's Monday, and that means it's time for class!
Who: All the fine students of Luceti U!
What: IT'S TIME FOR COLLEGE, YO.
When: September 8 - 12th.
Where: All over "campus".
Summary: It's the first week of class for all you wonderful students, both new and old! Enjoy catching up with friends, trying to find your classes, engaging in all aspects of college life, and... let's not forget about the upcoming game.
Rating: PG-13 at best, guys. I know this is supposed to be college but if you're going to engage in the more... racy aspects of college life, take it off-comm!
---
This is the general catch-all log for the event. You know the drill by now. There's a separate log going up that will be used for Featherbook. Please feel free to use the two logs in tandem with one another. In fact, we encourage it!

[But she did remember him enough to remember his name in the first place, so that's a point in her favor.
The expression on his face is a study in neutrality at the moment, though he doesn't bother to hide the faint amused curl of his lips. Good, she seems to be calming down somewhat now that she knows this isn't some practical joke being played on her.]

You know, uh. The counseling center on campus is really great, if you need someone to, you know, listen to you. I've been there before!

Maybe they are, but I also don't happen to think that they're one of the most attractive women I've ever seen.
[There. There's no way she can misinterpret that, right?]
no subject
[But nobody's ever put it this bluntly. Elizabeth stares at him, stunned for a moment. Gradually, her face starts to turn pink.]
I don't... I'm a graduate student, Gai. I'm sure there are plenty of attractive girls your age-- ones who you don't have to hold books hostage for.
no subject
[He almost, almost sounds slightly insulted by that-- does she really think he's some immature freshman just barely out of high school? He likes to think he's far more mature and self-possessed than THAT. He'd had to grow up fast, not that he'd wanted to. Being orphaned at a young age and then adopted by a stepfather who was more interested in his work than his son had forced a certain level of self-reliance on him whether he liked it or not.]
Don't tell me that's too young for you.
no subject
Alright, alright-- say that wasn't such a big deal. I teach two classes, I take a full courseload, I have this job, and I'm an RA. You'd be happier with someone less married to their work, right? Someone who actually goes on dates.
no subject
[No, that isn't a deterrent to him at all. There are few things that are enough to actually turn Gai away from something he's interested in, especially something as pretty and as interesting as Elizabeth is. The very fact that she does all of those things is part of what attracts him to her in the first place.]
Nothing says you can't have dates right here.
no subject
I'm pretty sure I can't be on a date while I'm at work.
no subject
[It's an honest question here.]

no subject
[He is not deterred.]
no subject
[Elizabeth is clueless.]
no subject
Just think for a few moments, Elizabeth.]

[Then raises her eyebrows back.]

[And Elizabeth looks miffed.]
Gai, I admit, you're very easy on the eyes. I'm sure many girls have followed you to 'private locations' before after you've called them 'the most attractive woman you've ever seen'. And I am thrilled to break your streak.
[She throws another stack of books onto a cart and starts pushing it to the elevator.] Drop the rest of your books in the slot next time!
no subject
And I wouldn't have been interested if you'd agreed right away.
no subject
In it for the chase then, are you? Done with the impressionable sophomores and juniors, so you're running after a grad student? I mean, that's the only reason I can think of as to why you'd be after me-- you don't even know me from the next female grad student.
no subject
I know that you TA for the Professors Lutece, that you're an RA in one of the dorms, and that you work here in the library. I also know that I have yet to meet anyone who has a single negative thing to say about you, save for the fact that you overwork yourself frequently.
no subject
[So when Gai rattles all of that off, she looks at him with a much softer, more curious eye.] All that because you thought I was attractive?
no subject
When he sees that slight shift in expression, his own smile grows softer and more genuine.]
In a nutshell.

[She pushes the cart into the elevator and looks back at him. The doors start to close and she hits the door open button to hold it.]
If you help me reshelve these, I'll clear your fines.
no subject
Grinning, he nods in gratitude to her, then steps into the elevator alongside her, careful to maintain a polite distance. The last thing he wants is to end this before it ever really begins by making her think he's trying to make a move on her.]
You've got yourself a deal.
no subject
So. Gai Tsutsugami, junior. And that's all I know about you, at least. What's your major?
[This is her trying to catch up with him.]
no subject
Public policy. It's about as far from my stepfather's field as I can get, which was my main priority in picking a major.
