On the 29th, the Malnosso announce over the radios that the power cap will be lifted to a full 100%. Carol broadcasts a message.

On the 30th, the Malnosso declare Vaskoth completely lost. Those with radio access will discover that the enclosure is to be bombed.

On the 31st, survivors will have one last chance to evacuate or try to find the cure. 3PM is do or die.

[Kratos had been infected--not too long after Yuan had, in fact.

And, just as what was to be expected, he has deteriorated. Already a runner, already having lost everything that makes him himself, he's searching without any rhyme or reason for anyone he can shred apart, anyone he can spread the very thing he's already fallen victim to....]

[Asbel was patrolling with what little time they had left to complete their mission. Getting people to safety. Stopping enemies. ...Trying to find people who could possibly still be saved from the infection before it's too late.

When he spots Kratos, he can tell at a glance that it's too late for this one. Nothing could be done to save him from the disease. Nothing except the sweet release. Asbel braces himself, placing his hand on his sword handle, ready to draw at a moment's notice. He watches Kratos' movements carefully, waiting for him to make the first move.]

[And make the first move he does, the moment Asbel is spotted. His sword is already out, so being set off by seeing potential prey isn't hindered by having to draw it. He swings his sword wildly at the boy, aiming for his upper left arm. Act quickly, Asbel!]

[Asbel's quick to dodge to the right to avoid being struck. He can't afford to be struck. One hit might be all it takes for him to become this guy's victim.

He then draws his sword, slashing at Kratos' side horizontally. The power cap limits the power of most of his artes, but it shouldn't impact his actual sword skill.]

[The slash doesn't connect--how nice it must be, to be so fast. But Kratos' evasion was not in order to avoid injury, but to attempt another attack on Asbel. His sword is once again risen for attack, and this time there doesn't seem to be a concrete destination. As long as Kratos draws blood...]

[Asbel dodges to the side again, this time barely avoiding being struck by Kratos, and then counters with a Diabolic Rage arte. The arte's shockwaves are lacking in its usual destructive power, but Asbel is hoping its wide range will be able to catch Kratos off guard even if he manages another evasion.]

[It does indeed catch Kratos off guard, and an inhuman snarl escapes his lips. He tries to catch himself.]

[Having landed a successful hit on Kratos, Asbel is quick to continue his assault, doing a forward somersault to strike Kratos with his scabbard as he sheathed his blade, and then follows up with a Bestial Roar, to knock Kratos back with a powerful burst of force, hoping to get some distance between them.]

[Asbel is once again successful, but Kratos only continues to attempt to catch himself. Nothing else matters. Nothing else, aside from ripping his prey to shreds.

The moment the burst of force dies down, Kratos will attempt to leap forward again.]

[Asbel draws his sword again the moment his blast fades, and dashes forward with sword outstretched with great speed, performing a Gale Maw arte. His primary intent isn't to strike Kratos, though if he lands a hit, he'll be happy. Instead, his aim is to get past Kratos and get behind him for his next strike.]

[He manages to dodge the hit, but tries to turn around and hit Asbel first. He will not slow down, he will not be swayed. His prey must die...!]

[Asbel manages to react quick enough to at least turn around and catch Kratos' attack on his sword, but it's clear he's on the defense right now.]

[And Kratos will keep attacking, not wavering from his goal, everything that made him up as a person absent.]

[Asbel keeps on the defense, protecting himself against Kratos' assault. Waiting for an opening to present itself. Even just the slightest delay in Kratos' movement. Once one presents itself, Asbel counters with a Wolfwind Fang arte, intending to keep Kratos immobilized long enough in the encircling blades of air it produces to be able to produce a follow-up attack.]

[Asbel should consider himself lucky--he is in fact successful, and Kratos is unable to move. However, that doesn't mean the man has stopped growling and snarling, as this is just another inconvenience for him.]

[To Kratos, it was just an inconvenience, but for Asbel, it was the deciding moment of this battle.]

It's over!

[With a draw of his blade, he begins his final attack.]

Shining blade of triumph...

[He begins to attack Kratos with slash after slash from every angle he can muster.]

Lunar Requiem!

[With a final slash, he sheathes his sword, finishing his attack.]

[That's it. That's what it takes. One of Asbel's slashes takes out Kratos' wings, and it's over. The man falls to the ground, lifeless.]
