Summary: Several people have received simple, written invitations asking them to meet at the rec center for a proposal.

[This is the log in which Shikamaru collects people and they get to talking about the task at hand for disseminating information, and possibly recruits them into the agency thereafter if they're still interested. People will likely be showing up at different times, so he speaks to everyone one-on-one instead of in a group.

The proposal will be offered to each character who shows up casually - no hard feelings whatever you decide to do - but with firmness. This is a group that will be dedicated to intelligence research and analysis, not information gathering. It's nothing flashy or exciting, but he expects discretion and it's a job that shouldn't be taken lightly. Those who accept the offer will be told things should be up and running withing two weeks.]



[ooc: because so many people ended up included, the way this organization will work needed to be re-tooled a little (hence why this is a day late). [Natasha had gotten passed the message about this meeting and she shows up right around the time indicated in the message. It isn't hard to find out who set this up and she waits until he's finished talking to someone else before approaching.]

Are you Shikamaru?

[No, it's Bill from accounting.

...okay he shouldn't joke. Not yet, anyways. He's trying to pass himself off as professional, after all, given he's eighteen and trying to appeal to people older than him. So Natasha gets and nod and small smile.]

Got it in one. Natasha, right?

[She confirms this with a faint smile and a tilt of her head in return.]

I am. I received a note that you wished to speak to me?

That's right. And thank you for being prompt.

[He makes a gesture to one of the seats in the room - it's a rec center, so it's nothing fancy like an office - but continues speaking as he moves to give them some space from the others.

Like Yuffie, Natasha's invitation would have included a little extra given they hadn't met before. A mention that her name came up in a conversation with Tony Stark, and that there's a job that might fall into her field of interests. Not too much, but enough to (he hoped) get attention and assure he's friend, not foe.]

I understand you haven't been in Luceti for long. How informed are you about what life is like here?

I've been here two days now. [It's explained with a smile that's midway between wry and almost-apologetic] I'm picking up things fairly quickly. Having a team here already informed has helped.

[She takes the seat he offers, settling down and crossing her legs, watching him with polite interest.]

Avengers, right? Tony tried to get something like that going here once.

Yes, that was the name that caught on back home. Although that's a more recent development. I'm guessing since Tony suggested me, you need someone with a specific sort of talents?

In a sense. Not those ones - it's nothing so flashy.

[He spreads his hands.] To cut to the chase, I'm putting together an intelligence agency. I need clever people who'd make good researchers and analysts. People who can keep discreet.

[Natasha's lips quirk faintly.] Don't worry, the discretion part I can do. I'm not usually flashy, unless the situation calls for it. I take it this is with the intention of finding a solution to our problem here? [She waves her hand at Luceti in general, although she's careful not to make assumptions. She doesn't typically agree to anything without knowing her facts first.]

[He'd probably have to re-evaluate her if she did.]

In part. Making some of these facts common knowledge is equally high on the list. You never know when a small fact can have greater relevance later on in this place, and there are those who've made poor decisions in the past over things they didn't fully understand.

Moreso than the Guide that exists, I take it? What is it you have in mind? And what would you require my assistance with?

I don't need information gatherers, though there's no rule against it. We'll be relying on outside sources for that, however. As I said, our prime focus will be research and analysis.

You'd focus on certain categories of intelligence. After verifying whether or not they're legitimate, you might look into it more and look to make connections. There'd be two meetings a week to work with others in the group, but you'd be free to pursue it individually as well.

Well, it's safe to say my interest is piqued at least. [She regards him thoughtfully for a moment, a slight frown on her lips. It was certainly within the realm of things she'd done for SHIELD, but she wasn't one for making snap decisions, either. Plus, that was Coulson over there, which meant he was being courted for this as well and she wanted his opinion before agreeing to anything.]

Might I have a day or two to think it over?

Naturally.

[Despite being happy with the acceptances he's gotten today, he likes it better when people think it over.]

[She nods in return, a faint smile on her lips.] Then I thank you for this opportunity. I'll get back to you in a day or so with my answer.
