Rating: Crys is here so who knows how violent it'll get.
[IT'S TIME... TO D-D-D-D-party.

AKA today is trainer day! The second one. And you know what's great? It's snowing! Making it perfect weather for shounen snowball fights or whatever the heck else people do in snow (I wouldn't know). Snow aside though, there's also lots of food ranging from all kinds of pastries to sandwiches scattered around a few large designated food tables. Hopefully there's enough to accommodate everyone...! There are also Frisbees and volley/soccer balls and whatever other toys people may have brought along.

But yes. Go forth, young trainers. And bond like you've never bonded before!!]

[Shiemi told Yellow he'd make some food. Rin's complied with that. The location would make bringing a grill or something to site a little bit of a ... hassle. So he just made a bunch of things ahead of time and packed them up such that he hopes they didn't end up going cold. Worst comes to worse, he can warm it under a fire. So...

Pre-prepared yakitori, soba, and korokke. Also he's brought a tub of rice and a tub of curry, so he's got that too. Shiemi said they needed a lot, so...

Mostly, he's here to serve and oversee that, but he's hardly opposed to socializing]

[...Hm, we haven't met this person before now, have we? Well, it can't hurt to try chatting with him since we're a little curious about everyone that arrived here.]

Pardon me for asking, but are you a trainer as well?

[His tail waves a little behind him, curling as he shakes his head] Naw, I'm just Shiemi's friend. She asked me to cook some stuff.

[cilantro]

[Tail...? How curious...] Oh, I see! Nonetheless, it's still a pleasure to meet you, and speaking as a fellow chef, I can say that what you've made certainly appears to have an impressive taste. [He offers a hand to shake with in greeting.] I'm Cilan, a Pokemon Connoisseur. And you are?

Huh-?!

[He stares at the hand a moment, caught up in the praise and the greeting all at once. That was not expected]

Hey, thanks man! [And he takes the hand firmly to shake it, grinning wider now that he's recovered from his initial surprise] I'm Rin, and I'm an exorcist.

[cilantro]

An exorcist? [Do we have those in Pokemon world...? Maybe, maybe not, unless the mediums that hang out in towers full of ghosts count...] I don't think I'm entirely familiar with the profession--something about "exorcising evil spirits", am I correct?

[rashness]

That's right! Shiemi, me, and Eyebrows are all exorcists. We keep people safe from demons.

[cilantro]

I see... [Normally we'd be very skeptical about things like demons and "evil spirits" (and it shows a little in the tone of his voice), but considering where we are, maybe it really is possible for some places to have things like that--wait.] "Eyebrows"?

Oh, uh. Her name's Izumo! But she's got funny eyebrows.

[cilantro]

Ah...I don't recall if I've met Izumo before either. [We would have remembered someone with odd-looking eyebrows...not that Cilan has any right to judge since, considering having green hair, this makes his eyebrows also green-colored too, but it's not quite as noticeable. And we haven't properly met Shiemi yet either, but we do know who her as someone who has a Pokemon here? Still, he gets back to the topic at hand.]

Nonetheless, while I'm personally not...ah, particularly inclined towards the tastes of the supernatural as far as "rogue spirits" goes--[Fancy talk for "afraid of ghosts but in serious denial about it"], being an exorcist sounds like a very interesting profession, and certainly a noble one if it means keeping others safe from demons. [Even if his idea of what he knows about exorcists may or may not be what you'd expect, like how they're portrayed in the Pokemon equivalent of The Exorcist or something but that would probably be mildly rude or weird to say.]

Heheh, thanks, guy. [and his tail's wagging now, looking generally positive of the praise. Actually, it's nice to be called noble. And it's also interesting!] It's an important job, which is why we're all big on it.

[cilantro]

Mm, of course! [Would it be rude to comment on the tail...oh hey, focusing on the food Rin brought with him.] The food you made looks great--oh, just out of curiosity, what kind of ingredients did you use for making this?

[Indicating the yakitori--or more specifically the question is what kind of meat was used, as it's probably different than...whatever people in Pokemon world might use for making that. ^^;;]

Huh, the yakitori? I kinda just made a pretty simple thing, just some tare sauce and chicken... a little extra salt, 'cus I think that makes it have more flavor.

[He itches his chin a little. Oh, right, he might not know tare sauce] Oh, tare's got some sugar and soy sauce in it. And mirin, of course. You can add sake, but I didn't both here. I kinda think it might have come out a little conflicting this time though, like it could use some onions to go with it, or maybe some garlic...

[His tail curls behind him. This is the only thing he can hold a normal conversation about]

[That's okay Rin, Cilan likes hearing and talking about food.]

Ah, I see! [Cilan appears to be listening intently, even making mental notes on it to file away for useful information as he picks up one of the skewers of chicken to look at.] I don't think you have reason to worry--even food with simplicity to them can have a delectable taste...and from what I can see based first on appearances and it's color, it looks like the ingredients for the sauce were mixed together well, and the chicken cooked to a suitable temperature...

Would have been better if I could grill it here, but I didn't have a portable grill and lugging a standing one out here with all the supplies would have been a hassle. I'm glad it worked out for something prepared before, though.

[cilantro]

Mm, I agree--right off the grill can be considered the best taste by many, but it looks like you prepared them nicely even in advance...ah, and you made korokke too! [Yes, awesome--we used to make these for one of our friends back in Unova, so he'll be looking at those too.] What kind of filling did you decide to use for these ones?

Well the filling's ground beef with some extra onions in with the potatoes. Nothing that special.

[cilantro]

[Cilan smiles at that nonetheless.] I had a friend in Unova that really liked these, so I'm sure he'd find them to have a delectable taste, rather than just "nothing that special"...

[And we think it's great too--he'll be trying the food for himself now rather than just talking about them.] ...Hm, and I'd have to agree that it's a delectable taste as well!

Well I just mean it's nothing fancy like French cooking or elaborate. I'm glad they're good though! I didn't think I did a bad job on them or anything.

[With a laugh. He goes to take one himself too, because he hasn't really been eating too much]

[He seems vaguely amused at the mention of French cooking--maybe if this was more of a formal party, then maybe that would make more sense to want to be elaborate. (Then again, does Pokemon world actually have "French" cooking or is it called something else?)]

Of course--elaborate or not, I think they turned out quite well.

Heheh! Well, any chef likes hearin' stuff like that, so thanks, man. [And after a grin-laugh combo, he starts to nibble about his own works]
