TRAINER DAY 2.0

Who: All Pokémon trainers! And any friends they want to bring along.
What: TRAINER DAY (2.0)
When: February 9th
Where: The western lake
Summary: TRAINERS. AND FRIENDS. AND POKÉMON. AND BONDING. AND FOOD.
Rating: Crys is here so who knows how violent it'll get.
[IT'S TIME... TO D-D-D-D-party.

AKA today is trainer day! The second one. And you know what's great? It's snowing! Making it perfect weather for shounen snowball fights or whatever the heck else people do in snow (I wouldn't know). Snow aside though, there's also lots of food ranging from all kinds of pastries to sandwiches scattered around a few large designated food tables. Hopefully there's enough to accommodate everyone...! There are also Frisbees and volley/soccer balls and whatever other toys people may have brought along.

But yes. Go forth, young trainers. And bond like you've never bonded before!!]

[We haven't met Crys yet, have we? Well, Cilan's a little distracted at the moment, but his Pansage has noticed her kicking those soccer balls around, after having approached from a safe enough distance. Now you have an audience of +1 green monkey Pokemon watching curiously, doing little claps at any particularly impressive-looking kicks.]
kickingcatcher: <user name=mischiefbreeder> (See Silver I'm TELLING people where I go)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-02-20 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[No, we need to fix this. But wow, Crys has never seen a Pokemon like that before, so it's time to stop kicking and pay a little more attention to this cutie.] Hey there. I've never seen a Pokemon like you before... what's your name, little guy?
cilantro: (pansage is the best vintage to have)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-21 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Pansage~!

[Yep. It does a pose with the introduction as well--his trainer tends to introduce himself with a dramatic flair sometimes, it's only fair that we can do that too.]
kickingcatcher: (Kicking him into a wall stopped him)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-02-22 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
[... oh gosh, now this is one cute Pokemon.] Pansage, huh? Could you be a Pokemon from Unova?

[Pulling out her Pokedex now! Let her research you. :D]
cilantro: (let us play you the song of our people)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-22 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pansage nods at the question before it looks curiously at her Pokedex. It doesn't seem to have a problem with you dexing it if you'd like. (Which, if Crys' dex is in fact up to date, the entry would say something about it being the Grass Monkey Pokemon and that it can share the leaves on it's head with Pokemon, which can relieve stress and weariness from anyone who eats them.)]
kickingcatcher: (Mama you rock)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-02-24 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[Taking a shot in the dark and saying it will! She reads over the data of the Pansage, smiling at him when she's done.] Those leaves sound pretty special. [Wonder if they work for people.] Is your trainer here?
cilantro: (tea time is always a good time)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-02-25 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Who knows, maybe they do. Pansage nods again at that question before pointing it's trainer out nearby--it's the tall green-haired guy over there! Who, from the looks of it, was distracted making tea or something at the refreshments table since he's been making warm drinks for people during most of today's outing, so Pansage went ahead and decided to go see what Crys was doing while it's trainer was busy.]
kickingcatcher: (Half of this icon is her hat)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-03-01 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
[TEA *__* She could definitely go for some right now. Don't mind as she picks you up, Pansage, and walks over to Cilan.

She'll wait for him to finish before tapping his shoulder.]
Excuse me. This is your Pansage?
cilantro: (apples: it's what's for dinner)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-01 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Pansage doesn't seem to mind being picked up and carried--it even waves at it's trainer when Cilan turns to look.]

Hm? Oh, yes it is! [We haven't formally met this trainer yet, have we?] Who might you be?
kickingcatcher: (A cute face like this shows up sometimes)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-03-03 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
My name is Crystal. I'm a Pokemon trainer, too. [As you can probably see from the Meganium, Arcanine, and Xatu.]
cilantro: (shall we allow the tasting to begin?)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-04 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
I see! [OMG HI CRYSTAL'S POKEMON--wait, proper introductions first. He gives a polite bow.] I'm Cilan, a Pokemon Connoisseur and a Gym Leader from the Unova region. It's a pleasure to meet you, Crystal!

[Not that he is expecting her to know what the former is, so lately he's taken to adding the latter too since that's what most trainers are more familiar with here.]
kickingcatcher: (Wait did Gold get into the sugar again?)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-03-06 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[Crys, control your urge to ask all about Pokemon from Unova.] You're a Gym Leader? And what's a Pokemon Connoisseur?
cilantro: (cilan please stop being so kawaii)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-07 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's right. As for being a Pokemon Connoisseur, it's a profession that entails being a judge of taste--in this case, regarding Pokemon. You look at the various flavors of a trainer's Pokemon in terms of their personality and strength, and how well they work together with their trainer. From there, we can offer advice on how to improve one's skills in battle as well as helping them to become better friends.

[He's like...a friendship checker, sort of.]
kickingcatcher: (Half of this icon is her hat)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-03-08 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
[You're very lucky Crys is smart and quick on the upkeep.] So, you evaluate the friendship between a trainer and their Pokemon? That sounds like quite a task.
cilantro: (why are you so kawaii cilan)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-08 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It certainly is! We also offer advice regarding raising methods and move choices if trainers are not sure of whether they're giving the proper care for them, or if they wish for their Pokemon to learn a new move to use in battles. [As far as actual move tutoring goes, he knows a little bit (like when he helped Chili's Pansear learn Solarbeam) provided the Pokemon in question can actually feasibly learn the attack and if he's familiar with it enough to know how to teach it.] And sometimes, we are also asked to assist new trainers in selecting their first Pokemon that would be considered to have the compatibility with the best taste for them.

[You know, for indecisive trainers who can't make up their minds on their starter Pokemon.]
kickingcatcher: (What's going on in this thread?)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-03-09 09:40 am (UTC)(link)
[... wow. That is a lot of shit to take care of.] I had no idea there were people who could do that. It's certainly all news to me, but it sounds great! [Making all those friendships sounds so cute.]
cilantro: (personal space? what personal space?)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-10 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm...and how about you? What is it that you like to do?

[Please, tell us about yourself too!]
kickingcatcher: (Please mama I got this)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-03-11 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm a trainer! Nothing as great as a Gym Leader, but I've Professor Oak's assistant, so I've been helping him fill up the Pokedex. [Crys, pls, you're the best Pokemon catcher ever.]
cilantro: (apples: it's what's for dinner)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-12 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's wonderful! A friend of ours at home has been working on filling up his own Pokedex as well, so it's always a pleasure to meet others with a similar passion for learning about all the various Pokemon they come across on their travels...

[Come to think of it, didn't Ash know Professor Oak? Shame that Ash isn't here to help confirm that for us, but nonetheless--] I take it you're from the...Johto or Kanto region, right?
kickingcatcher: (So this one time at trainer camp)

[personal profile] kickingcatcher 2013-03-15 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, really? Who is he?

[She nods.] Yes! I'm from Johto. Born and raised.
cilantro: (cilan please stop being so kawaii)

[personal profile] cilantro 2013-03-15 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
I see--my friend's name is Ash, from the Kanto region. Apparently he's traveled through quite a few regions on his journey, including Johto, I think. Now he's in Unova trying to fill his Pokedex with info about the Pokemon we have in the region I'm from, as well as collecting badges so he can compete in the Unova League.

[In fact, now that he's thinking about it, Ash had just acquired his 8th badge before we arrived here in Luceti...it's kind of strange to think that was several months ago now thanks to all the time he's spent in Luceti so far...]
