Band Together Everyone!
Who: Nagato and anyone else who wants to fight the corrupt police. Or be rescued from said police.
What: Freedom fighters unite!
When: Day nine, August 10th, of the event.
Where: All over Luceti, starting closest to Old Luceti.
Summary: Nagato has been keeping an eye out for anyone who has had a certain look in their eyes the last few days, and has decided to approach and unite them to fight against those who would try to catch or hurt them. Anyone with powers is welcome to catch his eye mid-fray too!
Rating: PG-13? Possibly higher depending on violence.
Nagato had, after the initial disaster of his morning, seen the veritable explosion of chaos all over the city when his senses had gotten a bit... ambitious. Still, it had been an opportunity, one that meant that he could more quickly hunt down those who would be in the most danger, either to themselves or others, and try to help. If that happened to mean being... shockingly good at taking out opposing forces to get to the people who needed said help... well he felt bad about that, but his instincts were practically screaming that this is just how it worked.
Of course, priority people to reach would be family, but anyone he found that didn't need a rescue first would immediately start getting directed to where their skills could be of use to protect people who needed protecting. Another bonus of the little sensory trick he'd picked up.
So go forth, bash heads, and be heroes!

The policemen that flanked him would pose a problem later, but he had already calculated that risk. He could throw them off of him and slam them into the concrete if he chose, but somehow he knew that he needed to wait. His strange talent for knocking through brick walls had a limit that he understood on instinct, and he didn't want to be caught unawares when he was unable to use it
It was only a matter of time.
Later
Barnaby is riding on a wave of instincts that he didn't recognize. He had been for the last two days, a slow awareness that had coalesced into a veritable blaze of emotions that left confusion in its wake. It fueled his determination to find the source of the distortion, however difficult it may be.
But it was empty. Even in his will to survive.
Because of his limits, he's not found easily. Instead he hangs back, looking for the best means to strike to the most effect. His actions felt strange to him, as if he were missing something vitally important...
Like someone by his side.]

Barnaby was oddly harder, given that he hadn't properly... well, felt him before, but he finally located him, after the man had broken loose and gone into hiding, taking care to not startle him lest whatever the abilities the man had came to bore.]
I see you've kept safe.

[He just needed to time his strikes properly. With a five minute cap on his powers and a long lag time between, he needed to be careful. Being recaptured for a third time was far from ideal for him.
Barnaby glanced over at Nagato, not in the least surprised by his approach as he was by his presence.]
What about you?
no subject
Though it's making battler a simpler proposition.
no subject
Then, what all have you discovered?
no subject
Personally... control over gravity, being able to fling elements at people, being able to take, feel, and I suspect give though I haven't tried, lifeforce from people, being able to transform pieces of myself... and my vision has drastically improved. I think there is likely more, but if there is I haven't done it yet.
And you? Certainly you weren't left out?
no subject
Nagato's description of his newfound powers, on the other hand, were deeply surprising.]
...Mine are nothing that dramatic. I'm just able to kick down walls for a few minutes at a time.
[It was a brief description, but there was too much going on in his mind to offer a full explanation. A part of him still couldn't believe that he was barely scraped by a bullet fired at point-blank range.]
no subject
Something as simple as kicking down walls wouldn't be as helpful in the current situation though, so I'll simply be thankful... and if you like, I would be happy to get you to your next destination in this mess.
no subject
He lifted his brows at Nagato's suggestion.]
What do you mean by that?
no subject
I could also just accompany you wherever you're trying to go.
no subject
I'm not sure where I'm going right now, but I am keeping track of their movements. You'd be surprised at how useful it is to just stand back and watch.]
Nagato over here!
He'd started contacting everyone he'd spoken to, as he could find them that is, pretty much the moment things started to happen. At least, after he'd managed to tame his powers enough he didn't think he'd be a horrific danger to those around him, and he'd start off with a simple set of questions. "Are you alright?" Which if getting an affirmative, would go to "Do you want to help the others?" However, if it was no, he would ask "What do you need me to do?"
If you need a rescue!
If your situation happens to be somewhat... violent, don't mind a redhead crashing in in a flurry of efficient violence which involves making people fly away from him rather aggressively with progressively more precision. And, should that not quite be in a position to work, hand to hand it was.
If it's not violent, or it's related to your powers freaking out, he'll approach with a lot more care and either try to slip you away non-violently, or to help you get your powers under control.
If you're just meeting him on the street and haven't met him before!
He's going to be going toward any people who have fluctuating power that isn't an 'innocent' or a 'them' to check if they actually need his help for anything. And if they seem amenable, well, he'll start directing people to where people do need the help.
(OOC: I am more than willing to hand wave him having spoken to anyone that just wants to jump in under that one, just let me know!)
could use a rescue here
But she wasn't going to go down without a fight. A fist swung at the first policeman, and somehow it just felt natural, felt right as though all her muscle memories she didn't know she had were clicking into place, to open up and push through it in a way she couldn't have described.
The policeman she'd punched flew back several yards, much to her shock. What had she just done?
She stared at the fallen policeman in shock, but there were still three others there to round her up, four men sent against a skinny slip of a girl who'd just started to discover that she could be absurdly strong at times...
I'll just slide right in here then.
He quickly ducked so that they would go past as he darted to the girl's side. "I hope you didn't mind the intrusion."
Come on in~
She glanced at him -- something about his face made her feel uneasy, but she didn't know what. And he was helping her against the officers, and she wasn't about to turn down that help just on the basis of unease! "Not at all. Apparently they don't like people questioning things!"
Excellent~!!

"Blessings?" She shot him a questioning look, then turned back to deal with one of the other policemen. She couldn't remember how she'd hit the one guy so hard, but she needed to do it again, somehow...
no subject
That stalled him a moment, especially when the skin returned naturally to normal. What the- Battle, he was mid-battle! Focus!
no subject
Blessings, that was a word for it. Apparently he had quite a lot of those! She gaped at the metal appendages that appeared as he struck, and one of the policemen still on his feet took the opportunity to bring a truncheon crashing against the back of her head, driving her to her knees, a burst of painful sparks of light filling her vision.
But the blow wasn't enough to knock her out, and she twisted, her vision swimming sickly, to lash out in return, the odd energy still fueling her punches there at her command. It felt so easy -- so natural, a part of the punch itself, flowing all as one motion.

"I... don't know," she said carefully. "I don't think I have a concussion, but..." A frown crossed her features. There was something she should be able to do with that. It felt... it felt like a habit, when there was an injury, to focus on it and push...
A green glow flickered around her hand, and she raised it to rest against the center of the burning, throbbing center of pain on the back of her skull.

"An ability of yours I take it? We should get moving before anyone else shows up. Things like this always go badly if you wait for the next wave."
no subject
"I'll be the first to agree with that," she said with a nod, one that now didn't make her vision swim. "And... I guess it's an ability of mine? It just felt like the right thing to do, like I've done it before. But I don't think I have..."

"I can." She doesn't know that, in the same way she doesn't know how to use this power, or even what it is -- but the same sense of confidence fills her, the sense that somehow, somewhere, sometime, she's done this before, and not just once or twice. Her gut knows, her heart knows. "Tell me where they are."

"I'll do what I can for them," she said seriously, feeling something of a smile start to brighten her features. Something she could do, some magic that let her both protect people and heal them... that wasn't anything to sneeze at! She could help, she could actually contribute something to all this mess...

Call for him? She wasn't entirely sure how that was supposed to work, but maybe it was something to do with the powers that he was finding out. "I'll do that," she agreed. "Good luck."

Sasuke still didn't know what was going on. Everything in his bones was telling him something vastly, horrifically different from what was in his head. But he did know that the police force wasn't what a police force should be. They weren't proud, strong men stopping wrongs and keeping the peace. They were twisted excuses for people, cowardly little monsters, interrupting far more peace and hope than they could ever keep.
He was good at keeping out of sight. He didn't know how he was, but he was adept at it, and he used this to get the drop on these scumbags, time and again. It didn't matter what it looked like - if a police "officer" was fighting a citizen anywhere Sasuke could see, there he was, getting in the middle if he had to - or getting the drop on the policeman and knocking him out cold if he could. He didn't care who anyone was. Right now, they were all on the same side.
[Weapons raid]
Sasuke had always had an interest in blades.
He didn't know why, and he'd never given it much thought. But when he caught wind that weapons were being kept, he'd followed that breeze to figure out where, to follow those who seemed to know and slip into the ranks almost unseen. He didn't know if he had something of his own hidden in this place, but if there was any chance, he would take it. And even if there wasn't - better to arm the other citizens against these monsters that pretended to be the law.
Fighting the police it is!
"You seem to be one of the more efficient ones."
