Zompania Draft - The Infiltration [Day 3]
Who: Thor Odinson, Zuko, Fayt Leingod, Silver, Naru Shikamaru, Rudy Roughnight, Elizabeth, Robert Lutece, Levi, James T. Kirk, Sam Yao, Itachi Uchiha + organized distraction teams
What: THE GREAT BOMB DISARMING
Where: The sub-basement of the Zompania school
Summary: Once the bomb is discovered, a smaller team of Luceti's draftees descend upon it with one goal-- secure and disarm the bomb, or face that creepy staring-thing again. (This wasn't anybody's last day before retiring, right...?)
When: Day 3 of the draft
Rating: Violence and possible torture on Team Capture's end...
((Repost of the Mod Info:
To get to the bomb and disarm it, the team of infiltrators must:
Disable the shield that is around the bomb. The power for the shield is being diverted from Zompania’s barrier.
The bomb is heavily guarded by Shifters and Foot Soldiers, all of whom must be disabled or killed.
Deal with the five cultist “scientists” in the sub-basement, who are integrating the power source they crafted at the altar, using all of those sacrifices. There are several books with them, which contain all of their research. Just stopping the scientists will basically save the day, but you really don’t want to leave what is effectively a nuclear bomb powered by souls just lying around, do you? Of course you don’t.
Disarm/destroy the bomb. How will you do it? Read the schematics? Make the scientists do it? Watch out, one of them might trigger the self-destruct mechanism...
It is ultimately up to the draftees to decide what to do with the bomb, the scientists, and the information they hold. But if they succeed, this changes the course of history. The bomb is not dropped.))

Yoruichi
[She fights from the air as well as the ground, drawing attention by destroying buildings before picking the respondents off with a mix of hand to hand as well as kidou. Her jacket is long gone--she can't use shunko and still keep her wings covered, so she's just resigned to taking the risk of having them exposed.]
[One may find her standing mid-air, destroying a building with a shunko-powered punch as blue-white kidou crackles about her arms and shoulders. Or perhaps she's taking out a group of cultists; it only takes moments when one can move quickly enough to seem to be in two places at once. You may even, if you appear to be an ally, allowed to see her at rest, taking a momentary breather in some out of the way spot before she jumps back into the fray.]

She turns down a narrow alley and sheds the noisemaker, using a bit of wind magic to boost herself over a wall.
Mind lending a hand and taking them out, Yoruichi?

Way of destruction 32--Okasen!
[Yellow kidou gathers in her outstretched palm, shooting out in a wide arc. It slams back the startled cultists, leaving them bloody and motionless. If by some slim chance they're not dead, they shouldn't be in any shape to come after Yoruichi and Ginia.]
[Just as well. There's no shortage of cultists to fight. Yoruichi hops over the wall as well, scanning the area until her eyes land on Ginia.]
Yo.
[She gives her a quick, weary grin.]
I got rid of your pest problem. Didn't think you'd mind.
no subject
But when she hears a woman's voice - familiar too - and a few short screams and grunts of pain, Ginia slowly rises from her spot. When Yoruichi comes over the wall, Ginia gives a tired grin back and a thumbs up. Impressive.]
no subject
Holding up okay?
[Yoruichi can't help with fatigue, but if Ginia's got any injuries, Yoruichi's still in good enough shape to heal them.]
no subject
She glances around again and pulls her earplugs. Only when she's certain there's no one else around and she can spare a few more seconds does Ginia pull out er notepad and pen and quickly write a message.]
Bruised, sore, but np. Thanks for the backup.

Hey, I've got my priorities in order--always cover the bartender.
[As bad as things are, she can still joke, so she hasn't hit bottom. She's hardly unaffected by the past few days, but dealing with it emotionally will just have to wait until the fight is over. For now, a few stolen moments of rest with a friendly face will just have to do.]
no subject
Always cover the hot bartender you mean.
[Though even as Ginia jokes, she wonders how full the bar and nightclub will be after the draft is over? How many people pouring one out for fallen companions, drinking their sorrows away, and trying to dance and smile and laugh a bit too hard?
Fuck, that's depressing. Ginia sighs as she tries to shake the thought off. Game face on, girl.]
no subject
I'm not the sort of woman to pass up booze and a view.
[She notices the sigh, but doesn't remark on whatever errant thought darkened Ginia's expression--especially since it doesn't seem like she wants to let it linger.]
[She settles against the wall next to Ginia, letting out a sigh of her own as she lets the building support her weight for a while.]
no subject
[A small smirk, a bit teasing, a bit coy.
She leans a bit more against the wall, shakes one leg out, then the other. Never comfortable, never too relaxed, never not attentive, but with company (and powerful company at that) around it's a bit easier splitting watch duty.]
Any news from the bomb team?
no subject
Nothing new. They're still moving.
[Which is unfortunately how battles go sometimes. You do the best you can with whatever intel you have at the time.]
But the distractions are going well. We've taken out a lot of the enemy.
no subject
May we keep taking out more.
And so we're clear no hard feelings at all about command at all, promise. But 1 question.
no subject
Sure, what is it?
no subject
[Kakashi's words, but it's a question that's been on her mind. Appearances are deceiving and if Yoruichi is some kind of immortal or otherwise long-lived, she wouldn't be the first Ginia's met in the village. It's really out of curiosity.]
no subject
I assume Kakashi told you that. He and I need to have a talk about spreading tales about a lady's age.
[She snorts]
I'm a shinigami. We don't age like humans do. I'm not even that old as far as we get--my former commanding officer has held his position for over two thousand years. And I think they were still calling him 'the old man' back when he started.
no subject
Shinigami. She knows enough Japanese to know it means "death god" or at least some spirit of death. Certainly useful to have on the field, especially on their side.]
Got it and I won't tell anyone your age lady's promise.
no subject
[Anyone as difficult to needle as Kakashi is practically begging to be teased at any given moment.]
[She hasn't cracked him yet, but one of these days.]
I just tend not to publicize it because people get weird about things out of their comfort zone. We don't kill humans, we just guide them when they die.
[Not that she can even do that here--she shudders to think where a spirit would go if she tried a soul burial in Luceti. Would it be trapped forever in limbo, unable to get to the afterlife?]
no subject
[Right. Moving on. Ginia pauses as she hears heavy boom and feels a heavy rumble from something crashing. Their angle doesn't give them a good view, but Ginia has a good hunch it's one of the airships coming down. Good.]
I'm going to have to ask you later about the afterlife in your world.
[Because even after her conversation with Saori about the afterlife, Ginia is still pretty certain there's either nothing waiting for her or some sort of personal hell. But it's nice hearing how things go in other worlds.]
no subject
[Her eyes narrow as she hears the noise from the airship, her gaze coming into sharper focus. She pushes herself off the wall, straightening up to check the area.]
That might have been one of the airships. I need to flag down one of the ghosts and check in.
[If it was, they'll need to regroup, and Yoruichi can contact the rest of the team and let them know which areas to concentrate their efforts in.]

[Ginia stretches lightly before drawing her machete and quietly creeping out from their hiding spot. She moves slowly, watching each step on the pavement to not make any sound. Kipinn's power is good for masking sound, but she doesn't want to risk drawing Shift Hunters in or burning herself out too fast.
She leans around the corner, keeping a low profile. There's a bit of dust and smoke rising up in the north as well as a patrol of five - one Elite, four Foot Soldiers - moving in that direction. Ginia ducks back around and gestures back northward and mimes smoke and dust rising up. Then she holds up five fingers and makes a small flapping motion with her hands before pointing northward again.]
