Summary: General shenanigans for people inside the dorms.

SPECIAL NOTE!! - Since this didn't come up before (but should have, my bad), there are actually a minimum of 400 Third Party soldiers in each area as opposed to in total. This means there are 1200 of them over all.

[Yeah, Katara is noticing that...]

Yeah. [She wouldn't have chosen to go either, if it wasn't for Sokka already having volunteered.] It looks like you put up a good fight. They got you pretty bad, huh?

It's like trying to fight with boulders.

[She winces sympathetically.] I haven't had to fight them yet, but I've never heard of anyone who's been able to win. Doesn't mean it will stop me, though.

[A pause. San's touchy, but she's hurt and - Katara doesn't like to see it. Is there any good way to ask this?] Will you let me help you? I have healing abilities...

[You're the second person to bring that up. She's giving the stink eye to your water jug, though.]

Your brother said something like that.

[Katara catches that look at her waterskin - she can't blame her. She's not exactly fond of San's knife either, but she doesn't hold any of their previous encounters against the wolf-girl. She thinks about it. How can she prove to San that this is something she can do, and that she's not going to hurt her? She's got the knife that Sokka gave her tucked her belt but...

Man, this was gonna suck. She holds out her hand, palm out.] Here. Cut me. I'll show you what I mean.

[The look on San's face says, quite clearly, "You did not just ask me to hurt you."]

Why would I do that?

You've only seen me use my water as a weapon. So if I take it out right now and try to help you, you'd have every reason to be upset. So if you cut me, it will hurt for a minute, but then I'll fix it. And I'll be able to show you that I can help you too.

[She shrugs a little helplessly, but she doesn't move her hand.] Or you could just let me help you.

[San doesn't have any reason to trust Katara. Sokka's word isn't worth very much.

...But for whatever reason, she nods once. Okay, go ahead.]

[Blink? Really? Katara slowly lowers her hand and her smile is almost shy.]

OK. I'm going to take out my water and it will coat my hands - then I'll have to touch you. [A pause, and then she does as she says and approaches with her hands at her sides.] It's not going to hurt, but it might feel a little cool and tingly. Then I just... use my bending to encourage your body to get better.

[She stops before putting her hands on San to ask one more time:] Ready?

[She didn't say any of that touching part beforehand. (Probably a good idea.) San goes still and rigid. It's not fear...much. She'll stay that still until Katara's done...whatever it is she's trying to do here.]

[Katara notes that tension but since San doesn't outright object... she just lays her hands on the other girl's shoulders. The water around her hands begins to glow.

She's gotten a lot better at this since she's had so much practice in Luceti. And now that she can move without a powercap - it won't take long at all. Maybe a minute or so, while she closes her as and is privately thankful for San's silence because it's been a long time since she's been this strong and so she has to be careful to control it. But the body knows what it wants to do - it wants to be well, and San's chi flows into all the right places, releasing a cooling and calming feeling. Soon all the aches and pains will fade, and the bruises and scrapes will disappear without a trace.]

There. [She steps back and puts the water back into the waterskin.] That should be better. Thank you.

[Blink, blink. Crap, did she mess up somehow?]

[Oh. Oh, right, fierce facade to uphold here.]

It was like...spirit magic.

Oh. [Good. She smiles.] Yeah, it's pretty amazing. I didn't even know I could do it before we started traveling - not all waterbenders can. [She shrugs a little uncomfortably, not sure that they're speaking the same language when they talk about spirits - different worlds, different meanings...] I know I couldn't do it, if it wasn't for the spirits.
