Arriving at the Facility

Who: All Draftees!
What: Arriving at the dorms
When: As of this morning
Where: The dorm facilities outside the enclosure
Summary: General shenanigans for people inside the dorms.
Rating: PG-13, probably.

[After traveling through the tunnels, draftees will arrive in the hotel-like dorm facilities. For information on what to expect, please read here! This is open comment log for anyone, so threadjack away! But remember, you can only enter someone's room if they let you.

If you haven't already, check out this post and get your character assigned to a team!]

SPECIAL NOTE!! - Since this didn't come up before (but should have, my bad), there are actually a minimum of 400 Third Party soldiers in each area as opposed to in total. This means there are 1200 of them over all.

[Bruce's voice becomes more serious.]

Of course. Come on.

[Bruce turns toward a door in the back of the room, opens it and steps inside. When Clark follows, he'll find that this hangar is more dark and more cavelike; much more like what one would expect of Batman.

In the center of it is the Batwing, resting on its landing gear as though it truly belonged here.]

[Clark's right behind his friend as they go through the door, and his eyes widen at what he sees. It's not that he's surprised Bruce went for something like this... He's more surprised he actually managed to convince the Malnosso to give him what he needed for it.

The Batwing especially.
]

They've been very cooperative with you.

[And a knowing smile.]

I'm a tough negotiator.

[identity profile] lookslikeajob.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Dryly.] Believe me, I know.

[And he walks over to the Batwing.] So I guess this answers the question of what you're going to do about our airborne enemies. Though I'm still at a bit of a loss as to what we're going to do to make sure they're not a threat after we've got them down.

[The frown on his face makes it pretty clear how much Supes has been thinking about this particular problem.]

The Batwing is meant for search and rescue operations in this operation. Using its offensive weapons against soft targets would likely prove lethal. [His tone turns darker, as though he accepts what he is about to say is unlikely to happen.] Assuming any survivors have held out, the Batwing can be used to airlift them to safety.

[And then he walks over to a lab table, plenty of chemical instruments currently active. Looks like there's a lot going on here.]

...As for dispatching our foes non-lethally, I devised a solution before coming here. A powerful sedative Wayne Pharmaceuticals was working on a few years ago. It was originally intended to prepare individuals for cryogenic sleep, but it was found to be unnecessary due to the advanced cryogenic research of Dr. Victor Fries.

The chemical is highly stable and reliable and will sedate individuals for approximately 18 to 22 hours and it works very quickly. It has to be injected, however.

[He just grimaces at the thought of what the Batwing's weapons would do to even the Third Party.] I see.

[The chemicals get a more intrigued look, and a smile when Bruce finishes explaining.]

I knew you'd figure something out. I should be able to handle giving as many injections as you can make... actually, thinking of it in terms of administering, could we put it into projectiles, for a tranquilizer dart effect?

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I was working on just that.

[And with that, he'll produce a weaponized tranquilizer gun from the table.]

With this, range should be less of a concern. The problem is if they're wearing any sort of armor, it might not work. That's when we have to do things the old fashioned way.

[identity profile] lookslikeajob.livejournal.com 2010-07-30 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
[He can't help but grin.] Trust you to already have the answer. As for armor, I think we should be able to target their wings even if they do have some. There's no way they could fly with them covered.

[And he goes back to a thoughtful frown.] Which just leaves us with the question of where we put the enemy after they've been subdued and restrained.

The only answer I've been able to come up with is one of the rest stops located throughout the area. However, we don't know if there are survivors present or not, or even if those buildings are still standing.

We may have to come up with an on sight solution to the problem.

[identity profile] lookslikeajob.livejournal.com 2010-07-30 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't like it, but I can't argue with you there. I've been wracking my brain on the subject but nothing's come to mind.

I'd suggest getting more input on the situation, but it doesn't seem like too many of our teammates have the same... problem we do. [Or rather, the same level of self-restraint.]

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-07-30 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
[A frown crosses his lips. His tone darkens as well, sounding much more like Batman than Bruce. He definitely doesn't like this.]

Fighting a war with nothing but non-lethal measures isn't a popular strategy. It's a problem we'll have to deal with. Enemy casualties will be unavoidable.

[identity profile] lookslikeajob.livejournal.com 2010-07-31 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I know. That's one of the big reasons I try to keep the League out of wars unless it becomes absolutely necessary. Our methods are... really more about dealing with criminals than rival armies.

But we're here now, and the Malnosso and our teammates alike will have to accept that we'll do things our own way. And... I guess the same goes for us.

[identity profile] cowledcrusader.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
...I doubt it will be that simple.

[Grimly stated, even for Batman.]

But we'll do all that we can.
