What: Killing Third Party members and taking names

Summary: Mass-interaction for those out on the battlefield. Feel free to make team threads along with individual ones or however you wish. Action tags are fine here along with prose. For those plotting mischief, this is the place to do it.
Rating: R for the likely violence since killing will most definitely happen, but this is more for interactions during the battles.

[And early on the 26th everyone gets sent out. Thanks to Caesar's organization, most everyone has been placed in groups, even if some people plan on leaving their groups at some point. Check out this post for the details. If you haven't posted to this post and want your character on a team, please do so.]

Special note: Ignore the comments that said there would be 400, that has been retconned and we were told 1200 Third Party members from the start. Enjoy killing them off and taking names.

Special note 2: I asked Akai if any of the Third Party will be coming and dealing with their incapacitated allies, and they will. So assume that unless something is done to prevent this, those injured Third Party members may come back later healed and ready to attack again (though possibly not as effectively).

[Of course Rydia listens to Golbez, both knowing that he knows what he's doing and that she might have to compensate for a certain ornery dragoon. She'll sensibly be in the back, ready to use her whip if she must but for the most part simply using one of her rods or casting spell after spell. She hasn't had to fight so intensely in a long time and the combat will take its toll, but she's determined to keep going for as long as she must.

As she attempts to look out for everyone in the group, Golbez is naturally included. She'll do her best to pick off targets before they get too close and prevent opponents from ambushing them from behind. The only time when she isn't actively watching his back is when she's forced to get healed but other than that, she's ready and willing to help him every step of the way.]

[Rydia's presence makes Golbez nothing but grateful. Having someone to keep their back safe and destroy enemies before they can reach the group is absolutely terrific, and the fact that it's someone he doesn't feel he has to expend extra worry on helps even more.

When she gets injured, he's the first one to demand that she withdraw to the healer. Though it's unnerving, holding out while she's gone isn't all that bad. By this point most of the attempted ambushes have been destroyed and the Third Party's offensive is starting to dull with the losses they've sustained. When she returns, he calls out.]

Are you fully recovered?

[Rydia nods quickly, as though to ward off any doubts. She wants to be out there fighting alongside him and won't allow any injuries to keep her away for longer than necessary, while the healing magic lasts. Hopefully, it will for a while yet.]

I'm fine. Don't worry about me, I can keep going.

[She strides back over to her usual position, glancing around warily and ready to deal out more damage as need be. That isn't to say she won't be grateful for a reprieve, though.]

Their strength is waning, isn't it? At least, for now....

[There is no "are you sure?", no second-guessing of her, not even a glance over to double-check. If she says she's fine, she's fine.]

Then welcome back.

[Another group breaks through the frontlines. Five. Golbez's hand snaps up.]

Waning but not gone yet! With me! Flare!

[The explosion consumes one and scatters the others, giving Rydia clear shots.]

[Rydia doesn't respond, at least not verbally. There's no time. Instead, she immediately focuses on her magic. Upon completion, Meteor manifests and bombards those scattering. They drop immediately after but a couple more break through, heading toward the green-haired woman who dared fell their allies.]

[There's no time to prepare a proper counterattack. Golbez takes a step back and raises his arms out to his sides, taking both blows. They don't break through his armor, but nonetheless the impact gets a grunt of pain out of him.]

You... shall not pass!

[Thanks to her Golbez-shield, Rydia gets the moment she needs to react. Closing in, she lashes out with her whip. The result paralyzes one of their opponents, giving her the opportunity to lash out at the other. Though the paralysis effect isn't always certain, she figures the distraction will be just what Golbez needs, as well.]

[The second attacker lifts her arm up, catching the whip around her forearm and pulling back her sword to counterattack. But Golbez takes this moment to lunge forward, pressing his hand against her abdomen.]

Blizzara!

[The mid-level spell is easily enough as ice rapidly spreads out from around Golbez's hand, consuming the torso of the woman. She gapes at him, then drops, her frozen middle shattering.]

[Rydia stares downward and then shudders.]

That was close. Too close.

[She turns away abruptly, not wanting to look upon what's left of the woman.]

Thanks, Golbez.

[He kicks the remnants of the woman aside, out of sight. Sure, they've both seen and done worse, but that's no reason to leave such a gruesome scene lying right there.]

Not at all. It's why I'm here.

[There's a visible bit of hesitation, however, as he lifts his left arm. His visored eyes turn to the offending limb.]

[Rydia nods...and noticing that hesitation. She's grateful for what he did, though can't deny the gruesome result. Still, what choice was there? The woman would have destroyed them, given sufficient opportunity. She pauses by him, resting a gentle hand on that arm.]

Still...let's keep going. Our work isn't over, yet.

I know. Just give me a brief moment...

[He grips the arm with his good one, and before Rydia has a chance to realize just what it is he's doing, he yanks it up and back. There's a sickening pop sound as he does so, and she'll probably be able to here the deliberately muffled hiss of pain.]

[Rydia winces, for his sake.]

Let's get you to the healer.

[It bothers her that she has to say that instead of healing him herself, like she could if they were within the barrier or she had certain summons. Bereft of them, there's little aid she can offer and it's frustrating.]

It was only dislocated. Don't worry yourself overmuch.

[That said, he is moving off the field anyway, probably to avoid upsetting her.]

[Good call. Rydia follows, of course.]

You worry about everyone else. It can't hurt to have someone worry about you, for a change.

[He laughs just a little as he makes his way over to their healer.]

I'm the eldest of the group. Worrying about you all is my duty.
