Who: All Draftees
What: Killing Third Party members and taking names
When: 7/26 - 7/31
Where: Sirry Crags
Summary: Mass-interaction for those out on the battlefield. Feel free to make team threads along with individual ones or however you wish. Action tags are fine here along with prose. For those plotting mischief, this is the place to do it.
Rating: R for the likely violence since killing will most definitely happen, but this is more for interactions during the battles.
[And early on the 26th everyone gets sent out. Thanks to Caesar's organization, most everyone has been placed in groups, even if some people plan on leaving their groups at some point. Check out this post for the details. If you haven't posted to this post and want your character on a team, please do so.]
Special note: Ignore the comments that said there would be 400, that has been retconned and we were told 1200 Third Party members from the start. Enjoy killing them off and taking names.
Special note 2: I asked Akai if any of the Third Party will be coming and dealing with their incapacitated allies, and they will. So assume that unless something is done to prevent this, those injured Third Party members may come back later healed and ready to attack again (though possibly not as effectively).

No problem, it probably will take some time to do anyhow.
Yuber quickly gives them orders to deal with any of the enemy above and ensure he is not disturbed. They fly off to follow his orders. Be glad he sent them away, Kain. They are quite powerful demons, despite the fact that here they are limited in their inability to summon also.
And his swords are out and the demon just barely gets out of the way in time to not be impaled. In fact, Kain will hear a satisfying sound of his spear hitting the metal of Yuber's armor, but it does not hurt the demon one bit.]
All righty! XD Yes, we might finish it by the time it's meant to happen.
[Something strikes Kain as off, since he always had a harder time so much as hitting Yuber before... But he's not sure if he's imagining this. He's not thinking too clearly right now.]
[Kain lunges again with his spear for another attempt at hitting him.]

Yuber will be deflecting Kain's spear with one of his swords and then quickly attempting to push it away and attack with the second sword.
Kain might notice, Yuber's movements also aren't as quick as they usually are, he's still fast, but his speed isn't inhuman anymore, it's more like an agile human's.]
no subject
[He silently groans, but then picks up his own pace, giving a couple of sharp thrusts toward the demon.]

Kain had better be careful because he's being attacked in two methods, by a falling body of a Third Party member whose wings are smoking from a lightning spell, which is why Yuber suddenly got out of the way, to avoid being hit by the dead man, and by Yuber behind him attempting to also stab at a wing.
From above Kain might be able to hear the sound of some feminine giggling, rather creepy sounding giggling, but it still is feminine laughter. It's obvious the trio in the air are enjoying themselves as much as Yuber is.]
no subject
[There's a tremendous amount of pain and for a moment Kain thinks he's lost both wings just like last time. But no. There's just one wing broken, dangling off at a weird angle. A bunch of his feathers go flying all over the place.]
[This should unnerve him, but Kain doesn't care. He's beyond actually caring what'll happen to him, and he just wants to destroy the demon- along with himself if that's what it comes to. His expression is agonized, as he makes a feeble attempt to stab at Yuber.]
no subject
And that really is a feeble attempt there, because even a human child could dodge that one and Yuber easily steps sideways to avoid it.] Truly, I should just tear the other off and let you die quickly. It would be so much more merciful, don't you think?
no subject
[He looks his hated enemy in the eye... and surprisingly nods. Yes, Yuber. This time he's crazy enough to want you to end it. But not without more fighting, or whatever is left in him to fight. He raises his spear to indicate his intent. Except the only thing keeping him going is that crazy battle adrenaline, but the moment it leaves, there's no way he'll be able to walk away from this. Kain's next attempt to stab Yuber is even less coordinated than the last. He's just stumbling and half-falling over by now...]
And this would likely be a good time for Golbez to step in
It may seem strange, with Yuber being a demon and all, but he is definitely one for quick, clean kills whenever possible. In death, suffering will end, and in this horrid place, the dead will come back anyhow.
But really, if you are going to put up a fight Kain, try to do better. Yuber could likely dodge this attempt while asleep, it is that bad. A simple sidestep has him away from the spear and now the demon is attempting to slice off the second wing with a quick clean blow to end it quickly for the dragoon.] Consider it an honor that I will end your suffering quickly.
You rang?
Firaga!
[And a gigantic fireball is flying straight towards Yuber. Whether he leaps back, teleports out of the way, or what have you, when he turns to see the one responsible, a huge man clad completely in black armor is striding forward, calmly and coolly advancing on the duelers.]
It's a black armor convention now!
Still, this is lucky for Kain, because no matter what happened, he would have to stop attacking Kain to dodge the fire. A demon did have immunity, but it was always good to try and shield as much as possible, which he did do.
And it would appear that was one thing that was also affected, because damn if that didn't hurt a lot. Thankfully the demon's own black armor shielded from the worst so he was able to try and pretend that nothing happened and he was indeed immune to it. Still, he definitely did not escape unscathed from that.
While the demon deals with that, he's going to give orders to the three female demons in the air to attack the one who just attacked him, and they will start casting lightning spells, when they finish casting, quite a few bolts of lightning will be coming Golbez's way (about 10 bolts from each spell, three demons, each spell normally does max 900 damage depending on magic resistance in game, so somewhere between thundara and thundaga in power, but more spiffy looking, without power cap they have homing abilities and are very hard to dodge)
And Yuber will be using a healing rune scroll while his demons keep Golbez busy.]]
go ahead and skip him for now, he won't be of any use! :D
[As Golbez and Yuber begin to fight, Kain nearly collapses, leaning heavily on his spear for support. But his eyes are on the fighters the whole time. With a pained gasp, and many silent curse words, he forces himself to stand upright once again. He can't make himself move another step, so instead he launches his spear forth toward the combatants, throwing it with all the energy he has left...]
[But not at Yuber. He throws the spear at Golbez.]
[...and then he collapses to the ground, still semi-conscious. Hurry up and win this fight, Yuber.]
Consider him skipped!
Unfortunately those other tactics are going to have to wait, as the sudden interference from those three summoned demons forces him to take defensive measures. Just as they're about to finish their casting, Golbez tosses up what appears to be some sort of shimmering, transparent barrier. Only after the spells are off does it become apparent just what he's done.
The item he used is a Star Curtain, a magic item that reflects all magic attacks back at the caster. Those thirty lightning bolts crash directly into it and promptly rebound, arcing towards the demons. Kain's spear is unaffected, but all it really does is land point down directly at Golbez's feet, quivering in the ground. He ignores it, turning his concentration instead to building energy for his own next spell...]

[The lighting does bounce off the barrier, but in doing so loses its homing abilities and becomes incredibly erratic and flies all over the place. Some come flying back at Yuber, some head towards the demons, and some just end up flying harmlessly into the ground or air.
Yuber ends up having to get quickly out of the way of what is coming in his own direction, as he gives orders to the demons to depart from this and take care of the Third Party. He ends up hit by one of them and he's not overly pleased by more burning being done to him. At least he knows now not to bother using his magic before he used a more powerful spell.
And since his opponent is concentrating on a spell, he's going to take advantage of this chance to use something of his own. He's going to summon himself a more effective creature for this battle. It won't take very long before he summons up a five headed abomination (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjdJX9M4Ruw#t=8m37s) with four legs and is rather large in size.]
no subject
[The relative ineffectiveness of his barrier is noted by Golbez, and he attributes it immediately (and probably correctly) to differences in the laws of magic between their two worlds. Another thing to note down.
The demons falling back doesn't deter his spellcasting any, since his target was Yuber all along. The summoning of the abomination is completed at the exact same time Golbez gets his spell off, which is both good for him because it means the attack isn't interfered with, and bad because he's going to be wide open to the creature's first attack.]
Flare!
[The name might lull Yuber into thinking another fire attack is on it's way, but in fact the spell has no elemental affinity whatsoever. It's a simple but very powerful blast of pure concussive force, the second strongest spell in Golbez's arsenal. Only Meteo beats it out and that's only for number of targets.]
[OOC: The fact that both its animation and name are clearly fire-related notwithstanding, Flare qualifies as non-elemental. What the heck, FF?]
...ok i lie, just a quick Kain-post of reaction to that creature!
no subject
Once the abomination shows up, Yuber will be teleporting behind it. Put simply, his plan is to use the creature as a meat shield, because it really is pure brute force. The creature isn't the smartest, but it makes up for that in strength and ability to withstand a great deal of damage before it goes down.
So Yuber will avoid the main amount of the magic and the abomination will be hit full on with it while it attempts to attack Golbez by smashing its body into him (and twice at that, the creature is somewhat speedy and in game gets two attacks a turn). In trying to avoid that though, Yuber is going to be unable to attack for now, but that is not a big deal, he'd much rather let one of his servants do the work for now.]
no subject
Golbez lifts his arms into a guarding position for each of the creature's blows, weathering the impact admirably but feeling definite crushing power even through his armor. This thing needs to fall, and it needs to fall now.]
Come forth, creature of shadow!
[He'd been holding this ability back, but if ever there was a time for his summon it's now. A large black serpent materializes around Golbez, curling about it's master protectively as the two begin to levitate. Its mouth opens.]
Binding Cold!
[The creature's breath is not flame, as one might expect of a dragon, but instead a chill so deep it freezes one's ability to act, resulting in full-body paralysis to all enemies on the field.]
[OOC: The Binding Cold ability was never fully explained in the main game, but if Dissidia is to be believed it's the Shadow Dragon's breath attack, which explains why it's used as soon as the creature is summoned. Depending on how paralysis works in Suikoden, this may be the end of the fight, with Golbez taking advantage of Yuber's immobility to grab Kain and escape. Your call.]

[So another summoner, not that that was surprising, it seemed to be a common enough ability from what he could see over the journals. Yuber tried to get away from the breath attack, but it covered enough area that he wasn't able to get away in time.
Both he and the abomination were unable to move for the time being, and that just had the demon enraged because such things usually didn't work on him. He's cursing the Malnosso greatly now for messing around with his body and his abilities and sending him off like this. And if this caused serious injury or death, he was going to be even more upset about this.
He knew he should have just gone and killed the dragoon while he had a chance rather than dealing with the immediate threat.]
no subject
But instead of attacking, he lunges over to Kain, lifting the dragoon up and tucking him under his arm, then begins to fall back, muttering a last Blizzara to cover the ground in between him and Yuber's group, hoping the slippery surface will help hold any pursuit off once they shake off the paralysis. The shadow dragon fades away as he withdraws.]

At any rate, they seem to have escaped by now, so Golbez slows just a little to a more maintainable pace, intending to return the group quickly and get Estelle to heal him.]

[Kain moves further and further into his own silent little hell, as they move on. Hard to say if the physical or mental pain is worse right now. Not to mention the humiliation of having Golbez carrying him off the battlefield. But fortunately enough for him, Kain passes out, unconscious for the rest of their return.]
