Who: All Draftees
What: Killing Third Party members and taking names
When: 7/26 - 7/31
Where: Sirry Crags
Summary: Mass-interaction for those out on the battlefield. Feel free to make team threads along with individual ones or however you wish. Action tags are fine here along with prose. For those plotting mischief, this is the place to do it.
Rating: R for the likely violence since killing will most definitely happen, but this is more for interactions during the battles.

[And early on the 26th everyone gets sent out. Thanks to Caesar's organization, most everyone has been placed in groups, even if some people plan on leaving their groups at some point. Check out this post for the details. If you haven't posted to this post and want your character on a team, please do so.]

Special note: Ignore the comments that said there would be 400, that has been retconned and we were told 1200 Third Party members from the start. Enjoy killing them off and taking names.

Special note 2: I asked Akai if any of the Third Party will be coming and dealing with their incapacitated allies, and they will. So assume that unless something is done to prevent this, those injured Third Party members may come back later healed and ready to attack again (though possibly not as effectively).

[Vash actually tenses up more when the demon vanishes. Looking around him as if expecting the demon to pop up somewhere else. After a few minutes he lowers his weapon slightly, finger still on the trigger. He still thinks Yuber could be nearby and he's not sure he wants to trust the man Yuber felt the need to leave him with.

The last few times he's been teleported it's been over a lake in winter and right in front of a giant wolf god who hates him. Sorry Caesar, but he's giving you a hard look right now. He's not really sure what to say either.] This is... rest stop five?

[Sob. Caesar is small and scrawny and very obviously couldn't hurt a fly. But he understands that, because of Yuber, just about anyone would be thrown off, so he isn't really bothered by this. He lets out a sigh.]

That's right. I'm Caesar Silverberg, a strategist.

[Lowers his gun a bit more.] How are your defenses here?

We're all right. There are only a few of us here, but we haven't had much trouble so far. As long as the others in this area continue to do their part, we'll be just fine.

Uh... Are you all right?

I'm fine. [A few scrapes and bruises, but otherwise he's not too bad. He's quiet for a bit as he calculates if he can get back to his group on his own from here.]

Glad to hear it. [There's a pause. Caesar didn't exactly have a way with words, and he knew it, so this could be tough. How did he go about this...?] If those Third Party jerks are coming back to take care of their fallen allies, we really don't have much of a choice in what we do. You understand that, don't you?

We don't have to kill them. [That would be a no.]

We do. The Malnosso's purpose in sending us here was to completely rid the area of these jerks. We will not be sent back to the village until we do so.

Look, I don't like it, either. In most cases, I'd say that killing the enemy means losing them as a valuable resource. But we can't get anything out of these guys - they're of no use to us. The fact is that if we don't do something about these guys first, they'll be more than willing to get rid of us. For the sake of all the villagers here, those who want to be here and those who don't, I can't let that happen.

They're people too! The have lives! We don't have to kill them we just have to stop them!

The Malnosso aren't stupid. They aren't going to settle for something like that.

We don't know anything about these guys, but they made their choice. They chose to attack us, and we have no choice but to defend ourselves. If we don't, we're dead.

But it could the same thing for them! They they just don't know anything about us and saw us as a threat! Maybe if we could talk to them we could end this peacefully.

We've fought these guys two times before - do you think that hasn't been tried? They won't speak to us.

Maybe they can't understand our language, we could try something else! There is always another way besides killing.

If there was, I'd have thought of it by now. Trust me. [He shakes his head.] If you can't bring yourself to kill anyone, that's fine. But remember that those you leave behind are only going to come back for more, and that will put your allies in further danger.

Maybe they'd be grateful that we showed them kindness.

And if they aren't?

Then we'll find another way.

[And here comes the other strategist, frowning at the two.]

Perhaps Sir Vash should be told what we discovered in this rest stop, Caesar.

[It comes across as something stronger than a suggestion.]

[Caesar frowns, too. Yeah, thanks for the hint, bro. He motions toward the building.]

If you recall, we were told of the possibility that there might be survivors here. If the mess inside is anything to go by, it seems that this was true, at least at one point in time. The people here before these jerks took over were tourists. I can't imagine they were the particularly violent type, either.

[Vash's look goes hard. He gets what you're hinting at.] If you can believe what they told us.

Would you rather not believe it and deny the idea that there may be other victims involved? Then who is the one passing judgment on what you do not know?

Nothing else they've told us about this place has proven to be wrong. There would be no reason for lying about something like that, either. But if we deny it, even if it's only a possibility, more innocent people may die. Is that okay?

No, it's not okay. Even so, killing and violence never solves anything.

And I'm sorry if I'm having trouble believe the people who said they wouldn't send me here; because I told I didn't want to come because I would not kill for them. [He adds that second part because he means it. He will not kill. He's also a little tired, stressed, and depressed beyond his normal limits.]

Then don't kill for them. You are free to remain here and not lift your weapon again. Maintaining that attitude and arguing with others on the battlefield simply prolongs the danger they are exposed to.

Right. [Caesar takes a breath.] Stay here. You could even be our guard, if you like. Keep us out of trouble.

[...not that they particularly needed one. But at least he'd be doing something.]
