Harry found it much harder to see it that way, having seen too much of Draco to really find him evil. Voldemort, Snape, Bellatrix, and Lucius were unflinchingly evil, whereas Draco was misguided and had proven he wanted to try and change. That made all the difference to Harry.
He didn't like ganging up on Ron about it, but he didn't want Hermione to take the brunt of things for something that was his fault. He too could see where Ron was coming from, but he felt so frustrated in the fact that it seemed like his side went unheard. "Don't you think we can defend ourselves? If he actually attacks us, fine, but I don't see how you expect that to just happen out of the blue these days. He's different."
