FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, MY FELLOW LUCETIANS
Who: EVERYONE
What: TRAUMA!
When: ALL THE TIME
Where: ANYWHERE
Summary: HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE TRAUMA. FREE FOR ALL IN THE SCARRING EXPERIENCES DEPARTMENT.
Rating: Gosh. I'm not sure. However, I suggest you hide your little'uns.
Basically, the purpose of this log is TRAUMA SPAM. If you didn't want to spam your flist with extra posts, or you wanted to post with more than one character -- or more than one character more than once! -- here is your place to be.
This will be a commentspam style log where you can thread start with your character hallucinating things. Whatever you wish it to be! It can even just be a more general thread start where they're not hallucinating anything -- yet. And each thread can get treated like a post, where that character's CR can react to the trauma going down!
If you still wish to actually post in your character's journal, you're of course totally allowed to do so. This is just here for funtiems and convenience for everyone who wanted a greater chance to post during this event! Feel free to use it anytime over the next few days, through Halloween, to do "posts" and threads with your characters.
Have at, guys!

It's really nice to meet you, Wolfwood. Despite the circumstances and all...

[He sets down that cross—oh yes, he actually does have that with him 99 percent of the time, believe it or not—and rests an elbow on it to hold the thing in place.
And his smile loosens, just a bit, and Xion may be able to see the concern.]
So, what were you doing out here alone, anyway...?
no subject
[ you know, all around, she's feeling a little ... warmer. kindness does wonderful things when you think you're all alone. her smile turns a little sad when he asks, and she looks away for a moment, out over the river ]
My bedroom walls started to bleed. I just needed to get out of my house. I didn't really stop to think or tell anyone where I was going...
no subject
[He goes ahead and follows her lead, casting a gray-rimmed eye over the water below. He notes, with a faint wince, that it's been replaced with cracked earth and sand and bullet shells. But when he blinks his eyes a few times, the vision is gone.
He looks over at her as she continued.]
I didn't tell anyone either... I guess I thought it'd be better for me to tough it out in the forest for the day—it was at least a little better than my room, anyway.
no subject
[ she's a little curious. has he been trying, but failing, with others? jeez. but she won't press the issue or anything. instead she turns her attention back to him, watching him quietly ]
I know what you mean. It's not as ... closed in. And out here, there aren't any doors that can mysteriously get locked. [ tiny frown. that had been the scariest part -- being unable to leave. ]
no subject
But—helping someone in the midst of a hallucination... He admittedly felt better knowing there was at least some way of trying to aid those he couldn't help otherwise.]
Mhm, that's right. It's pretty hard to help your friends when you're all stuck in the same predicament... There's not much we can all do but wait, though I guess being around each other'll make it go by faster, huh?
[Her description was definitely one he wouldn't have wanted to be in... and a locked door would have been kicked and splinted into pieces, had it been him. Otherwise he would have felt as though he sat in it's shadow, just like the old days...]
That sounds awful—outside is definitely easier, if you stay away from big crowds. The sounds of nature even help a little. Don't you think?
no subject
[ yes, friends; because why not? he stopped her from jumping off a bridge, that ought to count for something. ]
Yeah, I do. Out here I think it's a little more peaceful, instead of just ... eerie. [ but something he said makes her pause. ] What makes big crowds so bad, though?
no subject
My hallucinations don't do very well in big crowds.
[Lots of bloody results, those images. At least in the forest, he can handle himself when the familiar figures appear—seeing people from his past was far easier when they weren't stalking listlessly between crowded streets.
Not to mention the phantom smells of gunsmoke, the imaginary bulletholes and shells that no one else can see, the blood that somehow spots the land ahead of him, before he even steps there...]
So it is a little better if I try and hang around quieter places...
no subject
I can't really blame you. [ shakes her head ] It's not like that for me. At least, they don't get any worse with other people around...
[ she hesitates, debating asking if he's okay while simultaneously wondering if that's a stupid question. ]
no subject
Instead, he keeps looking at the water. He would have preferred to deal with the crowds than have to see that sack of shit again.]
That's good—just make sure you don't stay out after the fog rolls in... Whatever's in there, no one seems capable of staying away from it.
no subject
... what did you just say?
no subject
I said you shouldn't stay out of the fog—it can be pretty dangerous, from what I hear.
no subject
That can't be right... you helped me, you wouldn't tell me to stay out in the fog... go away... [ it's clear that part's not meant for him -- just for whatever is making her hear these awful things, making her see that odd look on his face.
her wings flutter with her sudden anxiety. is that -- is that blood, flicking off of her feathers? ]
no subject
Xion, you all right?
[This isn't good at all—most of his hallucinations have been straight-forward, but there are some people getting reality twisted into some horrible fiction. He curses this place quietly.]
Your wings...
[He reaches forward with a grim look on his face, grabbing the edge of his trench coat and pulling it back to expose the wing a little more. Was this just a fake images he was seeing? Had to be.]
no subject
What...?
[ she shrugs the coat off a little, too, fully exposing both wings. they're reddened... but there isn't any blood, anywhere.
Xion gives him a long, searching look, then a deeply sad, apologetic smile. ]
I'm fine.
no subject
He points a finger at her, grinning.]
Well—I don't know much about you other than your name, and that's no good! If it'll help take your mind off these stupid mindgames, maybe you could tell me about yourself. Or maybe where you come from? Or even your favorite food!
I hear chatting about stuff like this is good for the nerves.
no subject
but she blinks at his display, for a moment clearly not sure what to make of this strange man. no one's ever been quite so forward about getting to know her before. there's no way she can tell this person, still a relative stranger, all about her bizarre and terrible nature.
so she smiles, thinking she'll keep as far from the secrets as she can. ] Only if you tell me the same things! [ she wraps her arms around herself, humming in momentary thought. ] The world I came from is called The World That Never Was. It was always dark there, and the seasons never changed, but it rained sometimes. And, well ... I don't know if I have a favorite food. I really like sweet things, though. [ sheepish grin. ]
no subject
Hn... but those were some of his more darker years, he supposed.]
The World that Never Was... Sounds a little like my own, in a way. [He smiles a bit at the comparison.] I'm from a little desert planet—we weren't supposed to even land there, but... well. We make the most of it. It doesn't rain and there's no source of water above ground, but we manage with what's under the earth.
no subject
[ a little excited. not everyone does, after all! usually Luceti is their first experience with it. ]
How did you get there if you weren't supposed to land there, anyway? It sounds hard... did you like it there?
no subject
[He pauses—Vash had told him everything. About how Knives had caused them to fall onto Gunsmoke, how many people were killed in the process... And he decides instantly against ever uttering it to anyone. It wasn't his place to.]
I guess the ships malfunctioned and they all had to crash-land there. It was a pretty tough existence, not gonna lie... If the sun didn't kill ya', there were always a variety of bandits and thugs to watch out for—a tough place for an orphan.
But... I guess when the people there are good people, they're really good people. I've ran into some that seemed too good to be true, in a dustbowl like that...
no subject
Well, that's still one more than most people. I still find it strange, sometimes, since I've been to way more than two.
But... did you grow up like that, in such a tough place, with no parents? [ a pause ] I don't have parents either... and The World That Never Was could be a hard place to live in, because we were always fighting and you had to keep up... so I know what you mean about good people. [ she smiles with such warmth. ] My two best friends from there are here in Luceti with me. I got really lucky... both in having them here and ever meeting them. I don't know what I would have done if not for them.
no subject
Well—yeah... There were a lot of kids who ended up parentless. It was just the way things were.
[He smiles, though it's tough to match a warmth like that, miss.]
Good—that's great to hear! Two of my really good friends are here, too, so I think we really are lucky, eh? Even if Luceti can be a real bastard, it's nice to have friends around...
no subject
either way, Xion smiles at him in earnest ]
It is. Even if Luceti does horrible things like all the visions we've been having lately, this place has become my home. I still don't think I'd want to leave. So many of my friends here are from worlds I'd never even heard of before...
[ hey, wait. what's that? Xion trails off her smile fading into surprise as she stares around them. to hear, a mass of Heartless have suddenly erupted from the ground, all Shadows, twitching and shaking their heads and staring with their bulbous yellow eyes.
Xion's surprise turns to something serious as her eyes narrow. She doesn't seem scared in the least -- more like grim. ]
Do you see them?
no subject
No. Unwanted hallucinated guests of yours?
no subject
They creep closer, slowly. An uncharacteristic look of mild disgust curls Xion's lip. ]
They're called Heartless. Back home... it feels like such a long time ago now, but it was my job to fight them. Every day... for almost a year. [ a beat ] I know they're not real, but they're not going away. Can we leave?
