Summary: HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE TRAUMA. FREE FOR ALL IN THE SCARRING EXPERIENCES DEPARTMENT.
Rating: Gosh. I'm not sure. However, I suggest you hide your little'uns.

Basically, the purpose of this log is TRAUMA SPAM. If you didn't want to spam your flist with extra posts, or you wanted to post with more than one character -- or more than one character more than once! -- here is your place to be.

This will be a commentspam style log where you can thread start with your character hallucinating things. Whatever you wish it to be! It can even just be a more general thread start where they're not hallucinating anything -- yet. And each thread can get treated like a post, where that character's CR can react to the trauma going down!

If you still wish to actually post in your character's journal, you're of course totally allowed to do so. This is just here for funtiems and convenience for everyone who wanted a greater chance to post during this event! Feel free to use it anytime over the next few days, through Halloween, to do "posts" and threads with your characters.

Huh? [His body? Caesar pauses to consider this. He hadn't seen anything like that himself, but Albert kept glancing down, so-] Your hands?

[He frowns at the fact that Caesar noticed, but quickly rationalizes that he had been glancing at his hands quite a bit. He nods, speaking bluntly.] They appeared to fall off.

[Caesar had seen the scars when he replaced his brother's gloves, but he doesn't make that connection yet. In fact, it's far from his mind - all he can think is how ridiculously strange it is to see that.]

That's an... interesting thing to see.

Indeed. Not something I would recommend voluntarily seeing. [There is a certain bitterness to his tone.]

[He gives a nod. The bitterness is apparent and yet... he still isn't quite sure why.]

Has everything you've seen been that strange?

[He shakes his head faintly.] No. Like I said, this is the first on my body. Others have been distracting, but only momentarily so. Your wings appearing to bleed, for example.

[...well, okay, that is a little creepy, too. He has to stop himself from reaching back to touch his wings, just in case.]

That explains why you seemed so distracted when you arrived. [He sighs a bit. But two hallucinations so close together...? Caesar was "lucky" to see that many every few hours.] Have you been seeing a lot of them, then?

Not a lot, no. [He pauses, then amends what he had said.] ...Not as many as Raine appears to be seeing.

That's a good thing, I suppose. [Anyone could tell Raine was having a lot of them, though, so it didn't exactly say much about Albert's. And something was bothering him about what his brother had seen involving his hands.] I wonder if there's any basis to these stupid things.

I know some of these ... hallucinations appear to be personal. I have heard Sindarin chanting, Prince Freyjadour has apparently heard people he knows.

I see. [Caesar tilts his head a little. He wasn't sure if his own could be described as "personal", with the exception of imagining that ridiculous mark on his own hand again.] They're really troublesome, aren't they?

Troublesome. Yes. [He frowns, rubbing at his forehead for a moment.] The fact that the effects appear to be getting stronger as the days pass is a little worrying.

Stronger? [That was something he hadn't really thought of. As far as he was concerned, they were annoying, and that was about it.] It can't last much longer, right? That holiday is quickly approaching.

Two years ago, the effects lasted past the actual Halloween holiday. We can't be certain things will go back to normal after that day. So for now, I will remain skeptical. [And concerned.]

Wh-why didn't you tell me that sooner? [Aside from being distracted and possibly frustrated, Albert seemed, for the most part, okay to Caesar - but that wasn't very reassuring when he knew that things could get worse and probably last even longer than he'd expected.]

I'm affected by this, too, you know. [Except it wasn't his own hallucinations - or even that attack - that truly concerned him.] I was looking forward to that stupid ball so we could get all this over with already.

Well, I apologize for spoiling the party you were looking forward to. But I would rather prepare myself for the worse when I know I am affected by this.

Then why didn't you just tell me in the first place? That sounds like something I might have wanted to know, Albert. [Caesar frowns, but he shakes his head. 'Preparing for the worst'... But what could be done to prepare? He didn't even know what to do about these hallucinations to begin with.] Anyway, a few creepy visions aren't going to be enough to really get to you. I don't know what they mean, but we'll figure something out.

[...that is perhaps the most positive he has been all week.]

"We'll figure something out"? The most we have been able to do is distract ourselves, Caesar. [He glances down the hallway, towards Raine's room.]

That's enough for now, but if they don't go away soon, we'll have to figure something out. [He still had no idea what that 'something' was, though. Maybe the fact that he was worried was more obvious than he wanted to think.] We won't let it get worse. Not our style, understand?

...Of course. [His tone is flat, vaguely irritated. At the situation, at the hallucinations, at Caesar's ... optimism?] It's just a few more days.

Yeah. Just a few more days. [He sighs a little. His words of 'optimism' had been meant more to reassure himself than Albert - to remind himself that he could do something even if he knew he actually couldn't. That didn't seem to work, either.

Fortunately, Caesar realizes what's been bothering him since Albert told him what he saw. Unfortunately, he doesn't imagine it'll make his brother any less irritated.] What happened? To your hands, I mean.

[He goes silent when Caesar's question registers. For a moment, he stares at his brother, as if trying to get him to dismiss his question.

But the slight headache he finds himself with makes him sigh. ...It wouldn't hurt to tell him.] One of my previous abductions. My hands were surgically removed. [He follows up with a caustic joke.] They apparently did not do a clean job while reattaching them.

[At least the initial look on Albert's face prepares him for what he's going to say. Something less serious wouldn't have earned such a look.]

I noticed. [Caesar looks down, and after a moment, he reaches for Albert's hand. If Albert lets him, he'll pull his glove down just enough so he can see the scar. When he'd first seen it, he'd been too upset about the hole in his brother's chest to remember anything else. But if he hadn't seen those scars, he wouldn't have asked about his hands at all.

There are other things he wants to ask, but he can't bring himself to ask anyway. Too many thoughts in his head, and they weren't doing anything for his own slight headache.] Guess I got off lucky, huh?
