FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, MY FELLOW LUCETIANS

Who: EVERYONE
What: TRAUMA!
When: ALL THE TIME
Where: ANYWHERE
Summary: HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE TRAUMA. FREE FOR ALL IN THE SCARRING EXPERIENCES DEPARTMENT.
Rating: Gosh. I'm not sure. However, I suggest you hide your little'uns.

Basically, the purpose of this log is TRAUMA SPAM. If you didn't want to spam your flist with extra posts, or you wanted to post with more than one character -- or more than one character more than once! -- here is your place to be.

This will be a commentspam style log where you can thread start with your character hallucinating things. Whatever you wish it to be! It can even just be a more general thread start where they're not hallucinating anything -- yet. And each thread can get treated like a post, where that character's CR can react to the trauma going down!

If you still wish to actually post in your character's journal, you're of course totally allowed to do so. This is just here for funtiems and convenience for everyone who wanted a greater chance to post during this event! Feel free to use it anytime over the next few days, through Halloween, to do "posts" and threads with your characters.

Have at, guys!

[He goes silent when Caesar's question registers. For a moment, he stares at his brother, as if trying to get him to dismiss his question.

But the slight headache he finds himself with makes him sigh. ...It wouldn't hurt to tell him.]
One of my previous abductions. My hands were surgically removed. [He follows up with a caustic joke.] They apparently did not do a clean job while reattaching them.

[At least the initial look on Albert's face prepares him for what he's going to say. Something less serious wouldn't have earned such a look.]

I noticed. [Caesar looks down, and after a moment, he reaches for Albert's hand. If Albert lets him, he'll pull his glove down just enough so he can see the scar. When he'd first seen it, he'd been too upset about the hole in his brother's chest to remember anything else. But if he hadn't seen those scars, he wouldn't have asked about his hands at all.

There are other things he wants to ask, but he can't bring himself to ask anyway. Too many thoughts in his head, and they weren't doing anything for his own slight headache.]
Guess I got off lucky, huh?

[Albert initially tenses when he feels Caesar reach for his right hand, and it takes a certain amount of control to relax enough for the glove to be removed. It has little to do with trauma of the wounds and more to do with his wariness of the mark on his other hand.]

I suppose so. I can understand why they would want to inspect my hands, at least. [Not that that was an excuse for what the scientists had done.] Be glad your body is not so ... "curious" for the scientists.

[Caesar didn't consider it much of an excuse, either. Even though he doesn't remove it completely, he's very careful about how he slides down the glove, even if it isn't the hand with the mark. A finger moves over the scar and he winces a little, as if it actually hurt him to do so.

...he couldn't be glad about that. He knew he probably didn't want to know the answer when he asked, but hearing the response hurt. It bothered him more than his own hallucinations, and more than being attacked by whatever the heck was in the fog. And he remembers what Albert said once, about there being things here that Caesar shouldn't have to see.

He closes his eyes and takes a breath, sliding the glove back on completely and letting go of his brother's hand.]

They did a poor job, but I don't think they're coming off. They seem attached well enough to me. I would know! [He's held them a few times since coming here, after all.]

[Once Caesar's releases his hand, Albert tugs his glove on securely. He makes a noise in agreement to the observation. The hallucinations could do all they wanted, but he remained safe within the house. And if Caesar was not greatly affected, it would be easier staying grounded until the effects had faded.]

You would know. This is just one of those rare times where I need to be reminded that they are still there.

[It was also one of those times he appreciated living with someone instead of living alone.]

I'll remind you again every once in a while if I have to. [Not just for Albert's sake, but for his own, too. Was it strange to think that he had taken holding his big brother's hand for granted? That was how he felt right now. Maybe he'd taken a lot of those things from when they were younger for granted.]

You don't have to do anything. [Albert decides to remind Caesar of that before continuing.] So I appreciate the gesture. [Even if he had reacted badly to his hand being touched.]

[identity profile] mydearapple.livejournal.com 2010-11-01 06:35 am (UTC)(link)
[...he appreciated it? He hadn't expected to actually help at all, but knowing that it made some kind of difference was very important to him.]

And you don't have to appreciate it. [Caesar sounds slightly amused as he speaks.] But you know I'll do it anyway.

[It was more a sign of how disturbed Albert had been than anything else.] I know. [His lips twitched into a wry smile for just a moment before he turned to head for his room.]

Be sure to put some ice on those bruises.

[identity profile] mydearapple.livejournal.com 2010-11-01 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Caesar catches that smile, however brief it is, and smirks a little, too. If all of the hallucinations hadn't been so negative thus far, he might have thought that he was seeing things just now.]

Y-yeah. [In fact, maybe he'd do that now. After his brother disappears into his room, Caesar is off to take care of his bruises himself. For once.]
