Who: Everyone!
What: New Feather Party
When: Saturday Evening
Where: Rec Centre
Summary: Come one, come all! It's time for this cycle's New Feather Party!
Rating: PG -- to be changed in case of drunken shenanigans! Which are encouraged but it's a BYOB kinda deal. XD

[ooc: Alright everybody, here's how it works! Comment spam is the name of the game here and yes, my inbox can handle it! First comment is for anyone who's volunteered to help out and there's a lots of people so Selphie has already split everybody up into groups. aka: feel free to make your own groups. After that, there's just going to be general partyness going on! Threadjacking is more than encounraged (hell, it's expected and demanded) and there you have it! The grumps can come btw, they just can't grump at the party! xD]

The party was all set up and ready to go. The food had been delivered, the rec centre was thoroughly decorated and cheerful with its spring colours and Selphie was just hanging around waiting for the guests to arrive. Her small army of helpers had been hard at work since the day before and it hardened the perky brunette's resolve to make this one of the best parties she's ever thrown. A small part of her wished that her other friends from home and those who had left this place could be here to enjoy the party with everyone here. Even then, a larger part of her knows that it's better that they're not here.

Regardless, Selphie goes about getting this latest New Feather party arranged with every ounce of cheer and assuring those new people that not every people associated with Luceti is crazy. Giving them a welcoming environment to get to know some of their fellow residents is better than wondering what's going to happen next. Besides, it could help those shy people make some friends or get over their anxieties about social gatherings. Overall, Selphie felt that these parties were worth the hard work and would do them as many times as necessary.

It's probably because yer not very likely to find more of the noble types here. Let alone people who know how to waltz, speakin' from experience I didn't notice many the last time there was a party.

Not ta say yer music isn't impressive as it is though!

It's rather strange at times performing for others who aren't of the high society, but I'm growing to enjoy it at the same time.

Ya'll find that those who aren't artistocrats tend ta be much more laid back. I prefer their outlook on life myself, formalities seem so pointless in a place where everyone is on equal footing.

Even if there is no ruler of this land, at times I feel that Malnosso rule over us with an iron fist while seeing themselves as the upper class and we as the lower class.

Think of it more as though we're fish in a bowl, rather than commoners surrounded by nobles. Not that the thought makes things easier, but it sums the situation up well enough.

Fish in a bowl, hmm? That's quite an interesting analogy.

The bowl is transparent, right? Just like the barrier. So it's kinda accurate in that context.

A barrier between two social classes, perhaps that's more or less true.

It's still not the same as nobles and commoners. That's the type ya can switch between dependin' on yer circumstances. The Malnosso's class is something we can never become as far as I'm aware.

The Malnosso are people who seem above us, yet there are times I want to know more about how they work.

You should try askin' them, ya'd be surprised how often they listen in over the journals. If ya call them out, they'd probably reply.

I may have to try that in the near future. Ah, but where are my manners? [He bows his head.] My name is Frederic Francois Chopin, a pleasure to meet you. May I have the honor of knowing your name?

Pleasure ta meet ya too, Frederic, the name's Raven.

From the sounds of things, you've been playin' that piano fer most of yer life, haven't you?

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-03-27 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The pleasure is all mine, Mister Raven. And yes, I've been playing since I was a young boy, although I don't think of myself as anyone great.

I've never heard someone play the piano like that here before. Ya've got a real talent! It's nice of ya to share with the new feathers like this.
