Who: Everyone!
What: New Feather Party
When: Saturday Evening
Where: Rec Centre
Summary: Come one, come all! It's time for this cycle's New Feather Party!
Rating: PG -- to be changed in case of drunken shenanigans! Which are encouraged but it's a BYOB kinda deal. XD

[ooc: Alright everybody, here's how it works! Comment spam is the name of the game here and yes, my inbox can handle it! First comment is for anyone who's volunteered to help out and there's a lots of people so Selphie has already split everybody up into groups. aka: feel free to make your own groups. After that, there's just going to be general partyness going on! Threadjacking is more than encounraged (hell, it's expected and demanded) and there you have it! The grumps can come btw, they just can't grump at the party! xD]

The party was all set up and ready to go. The food had been delivered, the rec centre was thoroughly decorated and cheerful with its spring colours and Selphie was just hanging around waiting for the guests to arrive. Her small army of helpers had been hard at work since the day before and it hardened the perky brunette's resolve to make this one of the best parties she's ever thrown. A small part of her wished that her other friends from home and those who had left this place could be here to enjoy the party with everyone here. Even then, a larger part of her knows that it's better that they're not here.

Regardless, Selphie goes about getting this latest New Feather party arranged with every ounce of cheer and assuring those new people that not every people associated with Luceti is crazy. Giving them a welcoming environment to get to know some of their fellow residents is better than wondering what's going to happen next. Besides, it could help those shy people make some friends or get over their anxieties about social gatherings. Overall, Selphie felt that these parties were worth the hard work and would do them as many times as necessary.

[Daisy-023 had assisted not because she was a party person, but because she wanted to observe the new arrivals. Had it been her intention to appear fashionable, she would've worn a white Navy Dress Uniform, instead of a 7ft tall mass of armor, though John-117 would've been the only one who would've thought a set of armor would fit a formal occassion.

But when she listens to a piano song with a tempo she felt familiar -something she had heard in classes-, she approaches. And when she finds the pianist, she stands in a corner to watch him play, careful not to interrupt.]

[After finishing his piece, Frederic looks through his music sheet quietly to see what he could play next. Although in the corner of his eye, he could see someone watching him.]

[A part of her wants to hide as soon as the man notices something is off with the environment. She was never one that liked attention. But she stands still, and raises her head when she sees the pianist looking for something else to play, curious.

That song was not one she had heard before. But it sounded familiar. Somehow. She likened it to the greatest pianists of the 19th century.]

[Frederic at last picks a piece to play, closing his book and turning back towards the piano. His hands lay gently on the keys as he begins playing his Nocturne in E-Flat Major Op. 9 No. 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WnQ8WELcFI) since he felt a need to play it.]

[The Chief remembers that song. She heard it not in classes... but in her childhood. One of the Nocturnes of Chopin, E-Flat Major. A classic that predated her memory.

And she had never heard someone play the song like this before. It was surreal. But comforting.

She approaches. Her steps are heavy, but they are not those of stealth, or of offensive movement. The figure stands a few meters behind the artist, listening to him play.

For the time she listens to him play, Daisy is at peace.]

[He stops playing when he hears Daisy come over and stares at her.] Oh hello.

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-03-20 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, God. She was seen, and this man stopped playing. She bows her head low.]

You're a great pianist, sir.

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-03-20 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[He smiles at Daisy and bows his head in return.] Thank you kindly, your words are greatly appreciated.

I've always liked that song. Debussy, Rachmanioff, and Chopin have always been my favourite composers.

It's not stuff you get to listen often.

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-03-21 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I'm rather glad to hear that you find favor in my music.
daisy023: (Keep low)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-03-21 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
[..........

A beat. The Spartan raises her head.]

Your music?

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-03-21 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that piece I played was my own. [He bows his head.] Frederic Francois Chopin, a pleasure to meet you.
daisy023: (What was mine)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-03-21 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Ohmygodohmygodohmygod.

She salutes.]

Chief Petty Officer Daisy SPARTAN-023. United Nations Space Command. Naval Special Warfare.

[..........]

It's an honor, sir.

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-03-21 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
[He looks a bit surprised by her title, but smiles and bows to her.]

It's an honor as well to meet someone of the military, Miss Daisy.
daisy023: (I am home)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-03-21 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[While all of the Chief's words sound in control of herself, and there are little to no movements from her, inside her armor, she's spazzing.]

Negative, sir. The honor is mine. I mean it when I say, your music lasts centuries. It changed several currents of music. It has not been forgotten.

[Though her excess of words might be a hint that she's a fan of you.]

[identity profile] refinedmaestro.livejournal.com 2011-03-26 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
[He smiles warmly at her and blushes slightly.]

Miss Daisy, I thank you for such kind words. However, you do not need to flatter me so.
daisy023: (Gone)

[personal profile] daisy023 2011-03-27 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Daisy-023 then comes to the realization that she was making the composer feel the same thing she did when people saw a Spartan for the first time. She relaxes somewhat.]

My apologies, sir. Barring mythical creatures, it's hard to believe you'd be here.

...I apologize for interrupting you, as well.
