Summary: Come one, come all! It's time for this cycle's New Feather Party!
Rating: PG -- to be changed in case of drunken shenanigans! Which are encouraged but it's a BYOB kinda deal. XD

[ooc: Alright everybody, here's how it works! Comment spam is the name of the game here and yes, my inbox can handle it! First comment is for anyone who's volunteered to help out and there's a lots of people so Selphie has already split everybody up into groups. aka: feel free to make your own groups. After that, there's just going to be general partyness going on! Threadjacking is more than encounraged (hell, it's expected and demanded) and there you have it! The grumps can come btw, they just can't grump at the party! xD]

The party was all set up and ready to go. The food had been delivered, the rec centre was thoroughly decorated and cheerful with its spring colours and Selphie was just hanging around waiting for the guests to arrive. Her small army of helpers had been hard at work since the day before and it hardened the perky brunette's resolve to make this one of the best parties she's ever thrown. A small part of her wished that her other friends from home and those who had left this place could be here to enjoy the party with everyone here. Even then, a larger part of her knows that it's better that they're not here.

Regardless, Selphie goes about getting this latest New Feather party arranged with every ounce of cheer and assuring those new people that not every people associated with Luceti is crazy. Giving them a welcoming environment to get to know some of their fellow residents is better than wondering what's going to happen next. Besides, it could help those shy people make some friends or get over their anxieties about social gatherings. Overall, Selphie felt that these parties were worth the hard work and would do them as many times as necessary.

That's true, but some people can't seem to accept that and insist in making everyone sociable.

[Not that anyone forced him but whatever, he can complain, right?]

There aren't many other things to do. I supposed I could at least spend a few minutes here and see what Selphie prepared.

[Meaning, he's here actually because Selphie prepared this and seemed enthusiastic about it and he thought she would like to see him there even for a bit. So basically to make a "friend" happy, not that she needs help with that.]

I see. [Sort of like what Gerik does. Not that the mercenary forces him to be sociable, but the light effort is there.]

I thought I might be able to offer aid where I could. That is why I'm here.

You are close with Selphie, yes?

That's nice of you, it doesn't surprise me, you seem like the kind of person who likes to help. And I know that you are good at it.

[From his own experience when he was a kid with no memories. The next question is received with a light frown.]

Not really.

[Yes, he considers her a good friend and cares for her, she's not really as annoying as he tries to make it seem and he stores the memory of their snow fight as kids with fondness. For many they aren't really that close, probably she herself doesn't think that, but for Ikki they are so. Of course that means he will deny it though it's easy to see the lie for anyone who pays a bit of attention.]

How can I ignore those in need? So when we met, you only had your childhood memories, and yet you retained your memories of the experience?

[Saleh raises an eye at his next answer. Ikki's words may say one thing, but but the fact that he showed up here says another. But no worries.]

You seem like a loner, are you not?

[Ikki can ignore them... So long as he knows there's someone else there to help them, of course. But since when he doesn't ignore them there's no one else to see him caring it's easy to believe that he doesn't care at all.]

It's indeed a strange feeling and my memories aren't as clear as they could be, it's as if I was brought here when I was a kid, then sent back home and later sent back here regaining the memories of this place. Except that I didn't really regain them by arriving but from that experiment.

[He just shrugs.]

I don't deal well with people.

[It's the easiest answer even if not the most sincere one.]

It is strange...and terrible at times. [He remembers the altered memories experiment and how much strife it had caused for many of his friends.]

Hmm. I think you deal with people just fine.

It is, the experiments are something I won't miss from this place.

[Saleh's comment earns a chuckle.]

I don't think my brother would agree with that.

No? Even if one considers himself a loner, he can still live among people. Is that not what counts the most?

I don't enjoy living among people. Back home I would spend most of my time in a volcano, training and meditating.

[He only climbed down it to the village there to get food or if anything happened down there that required his attention.]

A volcano? [So here was another man who could live with nature's bitterness...perhaps even more so. Interesting.]

That is rather impressive.

Fire is my element, I was most comfortable there and no one was crazy enough to approach there normally unless they were enemies.

Interesting. I live in a village in a mountain range myself. [An environment that the prince of Frelia had deemed "unfit for human habitation."] The cold can be bitter, and the footing treacherous, but we live comfortably regardless.

Life can be pretty comfortable in places like that. So long as one knows where to put their feet. One of my [Friends... Brothers... Companions...]... Someone I know lives in one of the coldest regions of my world, above a frozen ocean and subject of serious snow storms that would freeze you in less than an hour if you're not prepared enough for them. But he has never complained about it so he must live comfortably as well.

Hmm. It amazes me, the strength that mankind has, but is often undiscovered because they're too busy living with their luxuries.

I suppose it can be amazing, but to gain it we had to go through several sorts of living hells for training since we were young. The child you met back then, I think it was only a few months later that I was sent to a training that left me almost dead on a daily basis for several years.

Why were you sent to train there? Is it a form of tradition?

No... I was given the duty of succeeding in that training to earn an armor, called Cloth, and the title of the Phoenix Saint. With that I was allowed to fight in an eternal war against other Gods in the name of the Goddess Athena.

Gods fighting eternally? Why?

Athena was given the duty of protecting the world and humanity, but other Gods want to either control the world or destroy humanity. They send their troops to eliminate Athena and sacrifice humans, and we fight against them to stop them from doing that. Being that they are Gods they aren't precisely easy to defeat for good.

Hmm, I would imagine not. Then you would certainly have a noble cause to fight.

[Ikki shrugs.]

I don't really care if it's noble or not. It's what I believe in and I don't expect anything out of it.

Fair enough. It is respectable nonetheless.

I wouldn't recommend others to do it, though. Not unless they are prepared for it.

Has anyone familiar to you showed up this cycle?

No...I've been by myself since this past summer.

[Since Prince Ephraim was sent home, and he's not even sure exactly when that happened.]

That's unfortunate. Though you seem to deal well with it.
