Summary: Come one, come all! It's time for this cycle's New Feather Party!
Rating: PG -- to be changed in case of drunken shenanigans! Which are encouraged but it's a BYOB kinda deal. XD

[ooc: Alright everybody, here's how it works! Comment spam is the name of the game here and yes, my inbox can handle it! First comment is for anyone who's volunteered to help out and there's a lots of people so Selphie has already split everybody up into groups. aka: feel free to make your own groups. After that, there's just going to be general partyness going on! Threadjacking is more than encounraged (hell, it's expected and demanded) and there you have it! The grumps can come btw, they just can't grump at the party! xD]

The party was all set up and ready to go. The food had been delivered, the rec centre was thoroughly decorated and cheerful with its spring colours and Selphie was just hanging around waiting for the guests to arrive. Her small army of helpers had been hard at work since the day before and it hardened the perky brunette's resolve to make this one of the best parties she's ever thrown. A small part of her wished that her other friends from home and those who had left this place could be here to enjoy the party with everyone here. Even then, a larger part of her knows that it's better that they're not here.

Regardless, Selphie goes about getting this latest New Feather party arranged with every ounce of cheer and assuring those new people that not every people associated with Luceti is crazy. Giving them a welcoming environment to get to know some of their fellow residents is better than wondering what's going to happen next. Besides, it could help those shy people make some friends or get over their anxieties about social gatherings. Overall, Selphie felt that these parties were worth the hard work and would do them as many times as necessary.

So she will be that big one day? That's really cool! Ne, Carbuncle, do you want to be that big?

[Goku looks at Terra hesitantly at her next words though. The kid wriggles a bit but remains with his hands behind him while looking at Carbuncle with an expression that shows that he is dying from want of petting her.]

But she's so tiny... I don't want to hurt her...

[Carbuncle kwehs happily in response, and Terra nods encouragingly.]

You won't. Just be gentle, like this....

[She demonstrates, then moves her hand away.]

[He is still a bit worried but... He really wants to pet her! So he gives in and moves... Slooowly, as if he's dealing with crystal, no even more carefully, because he has dealt with things that could break easily and not cared much but... Those things weren't alive. Goku pets Carbuncle gently, maybe even too gently, before quickly moving away his head and staring at the chick intently.]

I didn't hurt you, right? She's all right, right?

[Terra giggles as Carbuncle perks up and kwehs insistently.]

I told you she likes the attention. That's her way of saying she wants more.

Really?

[He smiles, well, if she wants more he won't say no! He pets her again, still careful to not hurt her but with less reserves now.]

She's really pretty! How did you find her?

[Carbuncle nuzzles his hand as he pets her.]

She was my Christmas present. There was this gold statue in the plaza and when you pressed a button, a box would appear with something inside. When it was my turn, she was in there.

That's so cool!! When was that? There was no statue in the plaza when I arrived in January!

[Why did he have to miss something so cool? He wants presents too! Actually...]

What's Christmas?

It's a winter holiday where people give presents to each other. A lot of worlds seem to have it in common, though I only knew about it here. It's pretty nice!

Uhm, I don't know if there was a holiday like that in the Heavens. I'll have to ask Hakkai! It's only in winter then? No more presents at other times?

Well...there does seem to be a tradition of people giving gifts on each other's birthdays! When's yours?

That's the day you're born, right? When I climbed down mount Kaka I was told it was April 5th! So I can ask for a present in my birthday? I'll ask Hakkai to make a cake to eat! It'll be huge and I'll invite all my friends to eat it too, you and Carbuncle too, of course!

[Yeah, he thinks about asking for a present and he thinks of food. At least he's thinking about sharing it?]

April 5th...okay, I'll remember that! What other things do you like to eat?

[She'll probably not do it, because she's in for a looong list.]

I like meatbuns! Fried rice, tofu with minced pork, pork chops, wonton, barbecued meat, fried chicken, sweet and sour pork, pizza, cake, ice-cream, pastries, candies, cookies, noodles, mantou, mooncake, shaobing...

[And the list goes on and on... Curiously there are no vegetables listed there.]

What do you like to eat?

[Okay, that is a long list, but she'll still try to make some of them?]

I like sweet things; pastries, cookies, fruit...and some other food, but desserts are my favorite.

...mooncake? What's that like?

It's a round pastrie, they are filled with lotus seed paste and have yolk from eggs! Uhm... I don't know how to explain it very well but it's delicious! Have you never tried them?

[Terra shakes her head.]

No. Maybe there's a recipe in the library, though. I'll have to look that up, and the others. Then I can share them with you.

Ah, you can cook? That's really cool! But if you don't want to maybe I could ask Hakkai and invite you for dinner so you can taste them.

[It's not that Terra doesn't want to, but that idea has some appeal, too.]

That would be very nice, too! Well, if Hakkai wouldn't mind....

Why would he mind?

<[No, really, why? He's asking first... And even if he didn't ask, why would he mind it? If anything he may be annoyed because there wasn't enough food or something for another person.]

Um...I just want to make sure it would be alright before I get there. I wouldn't want to make things awkward, you know?

Uhm... I don't understand but I'll ask him first anyway. That's okay, right?

[She's quick to nod, relieved.]
