Summary: Come one, come all! It's time for this cycle's New Feather Party!
Rating: PG -- to be changed in case of drunken shenanigans! Which are encouraged but it's a BYOB kinda deal. XD

[ooc: Alright everybody, here's how it works! Comment spam is the name of the game here and yes, my inbox can handle it! First comment is for anyone who's volunteered to help out and there's a lots of people so Selphie has already split everybody up into groups. aka: feel free to make your own groups. After that, there's just going to be general partyness going on! Threadjacking is more than encounraged (hell, it's expected and demanded) and there you have it! The grumps can come btw, they just can't grump at the party! xD]

The party was all set up and ready to go. The food had been delivered, the rec centre was thoroughly decorated and cheerful with its spring colours and Selphie was just hanging around waiting for the guests to arrive. Her small army of helpers had been hard at work since the day before and it hardened the perky brunette's resolve to make this one of the best parties she's ever thrown. A small part of her wished that her other friends from home and those who had left this place could be here to enjoy the party with everyone here. Even then, a larger part of her knows that it's better that they're not here.

Regardless, Selphie goes about getting this latest New Feather party arranged with every ounce of cheer and assuring those new people that not every people associated with Luceti is crazy. Giving them a welcoming environment to get to know some of their fellow residents is better than wondering what's going to happen next. Besides, it could help those shy people make some friends or get over their anxieties about social gatherings. Overall, Selphie felt that these parties were worth the hard work and would do them as many times as necessary.

Depends on what you consider "drastic acts".

Acts of self-sacrifice that could have easily been avoided and have no positive repercussions. Sacrificing yourself to protect the world is far from drastic, but it has to mean something. Otherwise, you find yourself with merely one less person on your side.

That's true, but she's in no position to sacrifice herself in my opinion. If she dies, even if humanity is saved for some time, it won't be for long. She doesn't take well us dying but we're soldiers after all, we can be replaced, she can't.

She hasn't done it much though, but it was stupid anyway, being locked inside a pillar and having it being filled with water while the rest of the world still suffered floods and heavy rains wouldn't serve for anything. Other than that the only stupid thing she has done is try to fight alone and push us aside, even ordering for us to be executed if we try to go, all because she wanted us to have a "normal life".

Your Goddess sounds well-meaning but impulsive. Does she have any advisors? They might be able to impress upon her her importance and the necessity or every single soldier she has. Executing you for trying to help is far from a 'normal life', and rather self-defeating, if you ask me.

[Ikki ponders about that. The closest thing to one that first comes to mind is Tatsumi, but as loyal as that man is to her, Ikki doesn't consider him more than an idiot. Not to mention that he still hates his guts and doubts that the man really gets how important things are, he sees him as mostly loyal to the human part of Saori, not to Athena. So he's definitively out...]

I suppose that would have been the Pope's role, but he was murdered long ago before Athena reincarnated. I don't think anyone has tried to advice her for anything else, though there were some capable men among us that could have done it. The problem would also be if she would listen at all.

No one tried to execute us, just get us away from there, but it still wasn't a good move in my opinion. Not that I stayed there though, I moved on to try to find the enemy's lair directly rather than just run around the Sanctuary trying to protect it.
