[He just nods and lets her soak the blood up. She doesn't have to do this and he's grateful. Could have worse cell mates. Plenty of people would have been willing to pick up where the guards left off and kick the shit out of a helpless guy to work off some of their frustrations.]

[He settles back against the other wall and closes his eyes. Tries to ignore the collar. It's maddening. It's too tight and he wants it offoffOFF.

But the emotions do not rise. Drugs. Well designed, he muses. Dampers aggression. Keeps the prisoners docile and perhaps makes them more compliant. Which makes it more maddening. There is no distractions, and no stimulation, and it's just him, his thoughts, and the awkward silence between him and his cellmate.

He won't let any of it show, though.



... and there are footsteps walking past. A pause in front of their cell. Someone whimpering. And then they start up again.

That old familiar tune... but he got out then. He will eventually here.]
