It was a nice, picturesque day in Luceti. For most people who had lived for so long in the place, they would probably say that it was the kind of day where everything could go wrong. Fortunately, the craziness had passed and it was just your typical, clear day where it would be a shame to stay inside and not enjoy the weather.

The forest was still a bit wet from the rains the previous day but it wasn't a hindrance near the river that Moses and Jay were following. Burdened by a great deal of camping equipment, Moses' sandal-clad feet sunk into the soft soil, leaving deep footprints in his wake. They were marred by Giet's paw prints, creating a confusing mix of man and beast.

Moses closed his eye for a moment, taking a deep breath of the fresh air. He threw a look over his shoulder at Jay, a bright grin on his lips. "Could almost start thinkin' we're back on the Legacy with everythin' behind us." If one ignored the wings he saw out of the corner of his eye and the very odd way that the birds chirped, it was true.

Once he looked forward again, the lake stretched out ahead of them. The wide, unmarked expanse of water was nothing like they'd see on the Legacy which was filled with ancient ruins and pillars. It was more like Moses' childhood home, fresh water and nothing but pure wilderness around it.

He tracked off to the left, finding a nice dip that was close to the water but not so close that they'd get wet if it decided to flood. Dropping his pack, he began to set up camp. There was still plenty of daylight left and they hadn't come across any dangerous animals yet in these forests. Old habits, as they say, die hard and Moses didn't want to take any chances. In time, a fire pit, a decent shelter and even shelters to store their food and supplies would be put in place.

Knocking a post of the tent into position, Moses motioned to Giet to patrol. It was a silent command, one forged over the years between the two. Growling in compliance, Giet vanished into the undergrowth, quiet for something so large.

"Maybe you oughta start settin' up places for our stuff. I ain't gonna go hungry 'cause some damn bear wants our food," he says, pulling the stiff cord he managed to find out of the backpack. "It's kinda small so it ain't gonna be that hard to build."

Yep. Old habits die hard.
