Summary: It just so happens that Christmas Eve is Nagisa's birthday, so as mentioned in her previous journal entry, she's having a birthday party! All CR of hers, Kotomi's, and Fuuko's are welcome. How everyone's going to fit (especially with Daisy and Beast there), I have no idea. But details, details.

[The apartment isn't decorated completely, really. There are just a few balloons and Christmas-related things here and there, but that's pretty much it. Not that Nagisa minds; pretty sure she prefers it that way! There's loads of food sitting on a table, some brought by guests and others cooked by Kotomi or Fuuko, which of course means that there's a starfish cake! Because of course Fuuko had to bake a starfish cake. For a heads up though, it actually does taste rather good and it did not explode in the oven like last time. So no shotacats need to help with cleaning. Then of course there are dangos everywhere, because it wouldn't be a party for Nagisa without dangos.

Anyway. If guests happened to bring gifts, there's a spot in the corner for that too I guess.]

Hmm? Oh yes, Nagisa-san is very nice. Fuuko couldn't be happier to have her as a friend!

[Smiling and gesturing over towards the table full of food.] Have you eaten yet? There's plenty of food to go around if you haven't.

["Friend"... he's thinking now about how Nagisa called him her friend. Awm...]

I... [He has been standing there for a while, and he is hungry, but...] N... no... but I... [Looking awkwardly at the dangos, not knowing what to make of them.]

But...? [Oh Beast, it's really hard to understand what you mean sometimes. Looking up and following his gaze over to the dangos. Fuuko walks over, picks one up and comes back over.]

Were you looking at this? It's a dango! Nagisa-san adores the dangos, they're pretty cute.

C... "cute"...? [How can food be "cute"?] But... wh-what is it?

It's a dumpling made from rice flower. They come in lots of different tastes and colours. Do you want to try one?

[Offering up the dango to him now.]

Rice... flower...? [But he takes the offered dango nonetheless and takes a bite of the first dumpling off the stick. His expression gradually changes from curious to pleased as this wondrous new taste flows through him.]

They're pretty nice, right? There's a whole group of dangos called the big dango family, but if you've met Nagisa-san then she's probably mentioned them at some point.

[Moving away for a moment to get a dango of her own.]

Sh-she hasn't. [Then takes another bite and, forgetting his manners, continues with his mouth full:] Wh-what do you mean by... "family"?

Really? Well she'll definitely mention it at some point or another. Nagisa-san loves the dangos like how Fuuko adores the starfish you see!

[Nom. Taking a bite of her own little dangos. Tasty stuff.]

You know, family, right? Brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers and so on. All the dangos are in the big dango family and they all live together in a big circle.

Oh... [She's not as... crazy as Fuuko seems to be about starfish, is she?]

I-I do know... but... [He looks at the last dango on his stick.] F-food has a... family...?

[Oh no, no no no, Nagisa can actually manage conversations without bringing up dangos at some point or another. Sometimes. Plus she just thinks they're cute and doesn't try to argue their appeal--]

Well yes, the dango do at any rate. [...] Fuuko isn't too sure how they have a family, you might want to ask Nagisa-san about it. Fuuko just knows they're a little cute.

Ih... [Well that didn't tell him much.] A... alright...? [Confused, but that won't stop him from eating the last dango on his stick... and soon after he'll be getting another one. These rice flower things are good!]

[Sorry Beast, that wasn't best explanation in the world but it's the best Fuuko can do. Nagisa is the dango expert, not her.]

Don't have too many Beast-san, you need to save room for the main piece! It's very tasty, Fuuko has given it a big thumbs up as a sign of approval!

[Dat starfish cake.]

[He jumps a little at her insistent reaction, but he only drops the stick since the dangos are already in his mouth. So once again he's responding with his mouth full.] Oh, r... right! [Swallow. Glances at the cake.] You... y-you made it?

Mmhm, it was all made by Fuuko alone! Fuuko had a trial run a few months back so this time the starfish cake was destined to come out even better than before!

['Better than before' being 'actually edible and not growing large enough that it can't be physically removed from an oven without breaking it'... BUT ANYWAY.]

It's rude to talk with your mouth full like that all the time you know.

[Manners Beast! Manners! Without even asking if he wants some or not, Fuuko goes to cut him a slice...]

[He nods, though he wouldn't know what it's like to bake. To him, the cake doesn't look as... "neat" as the ones made at home, but it still looks very tasty.]

Oh. [He was about to do it again before she spoke, so he finally stops chewing.] S... s-sorry. [A little too embarrassed to notice that she's getting him cake.]

It's alright, especially if you didn't know. Consider it a lesson for future occasions where you're eating but can't speak as there is food in your mouth!

[Cutting away the tip of one of the points of the starfish cake, putting the slice onto a paper plate and handing it to Beast with a smile.]

Fuuko hopes you like it!

A... alright. [He's not going to mention that someone had already taught him this lesson, and he... just forgot.

He takes the plate eagerly, though, looking back up at Fuuko after licking his lips.] Th-thank you. [Then he's just about to dive in before remembering his manners at the last minute. He swiftly changes to taking a small piece. Mmm, sugar! He's growling in approval.]

[He said thank you, remembered his manners and seems to like her cake! This is enough to cause Fuuko to smile to herself as Beast finishes eating.

Waiting patiently to hear the verdict on her cake. An approving growl is nice, but she wants to hear his opinion on it!]

[After finishing that piece, he's licking his lips once again, because he wants as much of that taste as he can get.] Mmmm... th-that's good! [Giving a crooked grin now.]
