Nel's not entirely certain whether she should be helping Daisy in the kitchen or staying with Val. She ends up going for both, aided greatly by her Sonido ability. One moment she's with Val, holding her and rubbing her hair, the next she's peeling potatoes next to Daisy.

When everything's ready and they've sat down to eat, it takes all her will not to stare at what she's come to consider "Kirimi's place" at the table.
