When: An announcement at about 10:00 this morning, with the meeting occurring at noon.
Where: Along the river south of town.
Summary: Luceti’s resident brainiacs meet to dissect the latest experiment.

Action

[About fifteen minutes’ walk beyond the last houses of Luceti, Don has laid out a sprawling patchwork of picnic blankets. He’s also brought enough drinks for everyone, and some outdoor toys, like a frisbee and a soccer ball. Science is fun by itself, but there’s no reason to talk about it in a stuffy room when they could be out enjoying the mild weather at the same time.]

[Mulder never can resist one of these meetings, there's always so many fascinating theories thrown around. So he grabs his lunch items and heads out. He's got a full report of his experiences from this experiment written up as an X-File, and he's going to share that and listen to everything that others bring in as well.]

[He even brought along a friend this time! Mulder has dragged along Scully to the meeting, with the promise that this is a completely scientific meeting. What she might not realize is that a lot of the science is weird off-world stuff...]

Mr. Mulder. How was your visit?

Hey, Don. [Mulder is actually in pretty good spirits about things, even with that typical experiment-ending-aftermath.] I uncovered a great deal about the world I visited, all in all I'd say it was a successful trip. Even if I got sent there without shoes.

...Did you get to go home as planned?

Home, but... not as planned.

[Where does he even begin to explain what went wrong.]

Not as planned? Would you be willing to elaborate on that?

[Mulder was expecting there'd be problems with some people's experiences.]

I didn't get the guest I signed up for. And the visit itself was... more eventful than I had hoped. [And not in a good way.]

I heard some people ended up sent to a world they didn't expect... this 'eventful' aspect of it, was that due to the person who was accidentally sent with you?

No, it was due to someone else who showed up while I was there. An enemy of ours. He sent us... somewhere else.

You ended up in a dangerous place in your homeworld as a result?

[i_speak_softly]

I'm not sure if it was my world or not. But it was definitely unfriendly.

What was it like, if you don't mind me asking for details.

[i_speak_softly]

[He shakes his head.] I'd rather not talk about that part. Tell me about yours.

[most_unwanted]

[He nods in understanding- at least his visit will be easy to talk about.]

I ended up right where I expected, in the land of Gensokyo. I got to see a lot while I was there- actually I crammed in a good amount for only a day. [A pause.] Oh, and I did meet a flying turtle.

Really, a flying turtle? [He stretches his wings a little, fascinated by the idea.]

Yeah. He was pretty cool- I got that wise old mentor type of vibe from him. He even offered me a ride since I was... a little lacking in footwear at the time.

[i_speak_softly]

[Well, turtles are symbols of wisdom and longevity.]

Can I ask how big he was?

[most_unwanted]

[Mulder glances at Don, holds his hands out, trying to estimate.]

I'd say larger than you... not by a whole lot, but enough that he could comfortably carry me on his back.

[He must have had incredibly strong wings.]

What was his name?

Genji. As far as I remember, he was the only of his kind there... but Gensokyo has a pretty interesting range of different beings.
