So Archie isn't Aubrey, but he's tried to make things warm and have lots of good food.  He's done pretty well, but his attempts to replace the captain of which he was so fond aren't perfect.  The beef is, perhaps, just a tad drier, the pudding a teensy bit too moist, and other such nitpicks, but hey.  One of you try it.

Does Sharpe read? Of course he does. He answered the written message. Maybe he just doesn't prefer it.

I'd rather have her at my back than most any man I've ever met. She's the only woman I know who's nearly eight feet tall, so she's impossible to miss. She can also dance."

"That must be a sight," he almost-smiled once again while he imagined it. "Is that all there is to her name, then? Daisy?"
