So... meanwhile, back at the ranch, there were opportunities for those who have caught their journals to know who's coming, and those who have not caught their journals to be taken by surprise at the new Water Tribe member in the house.

[That evening, Aang woke up with his face in a book. There he was, in the library. Jinora had piqued his interest in books, so he was trying to read one. He didn't count on so many words, and maybe it was still some residual tiredness from the draft that caused him to sleep the day away there.

He quickly got a sense of how late it was, however, and he scooped up his journal without bothering to check it first. Once he was outside, he produced an air scooter and made his way back as quickly as possible, hoping he hadn't missed dinner.]

[Everything was a mess. Tarrlok didn't have his bending and apparently kidnapped her - she's behind. So behind. Probably even months behind. Asami was being friendly to her over the journal - even protective. Were they friends? Could she be friends with that girl? She didn't know, and it felt like she was letting everyone down yet again in a new way. But Korra put on a smile. A smile for people she didn't know, people she did know, but knew in a different way back home.

Albeit it's not the most flattering of smiles. Oops.]

[Yeah no as soon as Korra's in eyesight of her Asami's barreling over to hug the other girl. She's been here with only the oldest of Tenzin's family, recently Lin, and a bunch of people from the past for days. None of Team Avatar proper has been here. And now Korra was here and she had to worry far too long about the fact Tarrlok was with her.

She still has on the Equalist glove thin, but oh well. She's not activating her]

After all Sokka was picking up Tarrlok too so she had it on just in case when she headed over here to meet Korra

[Whoa, whoa! Asami? Asami, Mako's girlfriend, is hugging her? Wow, they really must be friends in the future. This creates a knot in her stomach that twists her insides up. Should she feel bad for how she felt about this girl? To be honest Korra is conflicted with her (she feels) justified annoyance at the girl, and the sudden friendliness she's showing. Ugh, time for more fake smiles and awkwardness.]

Asami... hey... [What are proper words? Shut up, she knows she already said "hey."]

[ Ikki doesn't bother with hellos, she just tackles Korra around the middle, squealing loudly. ] Korra! Korra Korra Korra I missed you! When are you from? Where'd Tarrlok go? Did he bloodbend you? Are you okay? Did you meet my Grandpa yet?

Look, I have this! [ she shoves her right wrist up near Korra's face, as far as she can reach, around which are the prayer beads Aang gave her, looped around to fit. There are four wooden emblems of each of the nations, evenly spaced. ]

[Sokka arrives a little after this 'shindig'. Had to get Appa situated and all. You can'd just park a sky bison and just walk away, you know. So after coming in, he's headed straight to the fridge to get a drink. And then he spots Korra. Who looks like she feels out of place as she probably is.]

Hey, Korra. Thirsty?

I'm so glad to see you again! [...Wait no Korra being here is a bad thing. Oh well] I'm sorry you had to wake up next to Tarrlok of all people.

Uh, thanks? It wasn't really all that bad. I mean, he didn't do anything.

He's lost his bending.

[Whoa, girl! She catches Ikki without any trouble, but the hard part is sorting out what she said.]

Uh, that's great! Really nice, Ikki!

Sure. [She says, leaned up against a wall. She feels so... crowded here. It's a bit uncomfortable for her.]

[Yeah. He can sort of pick up on that. Not used to being the life of the party, huh? He shrugs, though.]

Uh, not so much. Stuff like that doesn't show up often. There's plenty of these. [He holds up his soda. Orange.]

Grandpa gave it to me! [ Ikki puts her arms around Korra's neck, happy to be held until she's put down. She hasn't seen Korra in about a week, after all.

She'd. Be more worried about Tarrlok, but she doesn't see him, so...she's okay with being okay for now. ]

[Korra doesn't mind holding the small girl. It's not like she's heavy... and it's nice to have someone to take her mind off of things. Korra can't be all sulky if there's someone with so much energy talking to her.]

He did? How long did it take him to make?

[She knows soda... or at least a certain type of it, but doesn't recognize the container.]

It's soda. Ikki says you don't get it in cans back in Republic City.

[You guys are really old fashioned in the future.]

We don't. I think it's just on tap.

[She holds her hand open. Go ahead, toss her a can of pop.]

[breezing]

I dunno if he made them! [ She hadn't asked, actually. ] They were his, and he gave them to me.

[A quick trip to the fridge and- incoming.]

So... you from the South or North Pole?

Oh. [She backs off from the hugging, but she remains close, looking down at the other girl as if vaguely concerned that she'll vanish] And... what about you, Korra?

[When Aang comes home he'll find an extra member in the house. She's sitting on the couch, hunched over herself a little, and staring down at orange soda can in her hand. You know it was still weird. The soda here was different. The taste, the packaging, everything... but it had the same name. Sort of like the Avatar, wasn't it? A different personality, a different body, but still all the same responsibilities and abilities. Except, unlike most sodas - Avatars? - she was flat. She couldn't be like the others. She was defunct.

Tch, no. Avatars aren't like soda at all. What is she thinking?]

Well I... I'm behind, I guess? The last thing I remember was joining Tarrlok's task force and facing Amon at Aang Memorial Island... but Tarrlok said that was a while ago.

[Well she's never seen anything like that before, and doesn't know you can pick things up at shops yet.]

Oh yeah? A present from your Grandfather is pretty cool. [Would that, in essence, be a present from her? She's not sure. It's weird thinking about multiple Avatars in the same place.]

[She catches the can without a hitch, smiling a little. At least she can do that much.]

[Aang walks casually into the house and begins to peer around the living room for signs of his roommates... only to find a young woman on the couch. It definitely ain't Katara. Aang begins to feel an odd, but familiar sensation. He walks towards her.]
