Bantha Gettin' Down on the Farm....

What: Lets play Harvest Moon: Luceti Edition

Where: Farmland outside the village
Summary: Luke Skywalker has decided that the farmland should be put to use. Rather than let the land go fallow, and despite the lateness in the season, he's asked people for help putting together a small farm project. The aim is to plant a lot of crops so the soil doesn't go wild from disuse.

Anyone who's interested in this, feel free to just jump in. Luke's been asking around, and doing quite a bit of work to get things set up. Barrels of water, some seeds, gathering tools. If you want to help out, please go for it. Just...don't kill the Bantha, ok?

[For the past few days, Luke Skywalker has been making preparations for the beginning of planting. He's set out barrels of water, gathered seeds from around, put up chairs, tables, and umbrellas to keep people safe from the heat, and done everything that a good Tatooinian farmboy should do.

Most notably, however, is the fact that in a small enclosure he's put together out of fallen logs there is now a full grown Bantha just standing around, chewing up grass and waiting to be put to work. A reminder of home, and a beast of burden, all in one 3 meter tall, half ton, furry drooling package. And Luke's already started gathering fertilizer...

He's mighty pleased with the creature, despite having not named it. That much should be readily apparent by the goofy smile on his face]

[Lupin was tired, having trudged the way from the village to the farmlands under his own steam despite his friend's insistence and the presence of the repulsor sled. He hadn't done much walking beyond the village since June, and his balance had improved even if his stamina hadn't. It was surprising how fatigued a balance problem could make a person. The debacle with the chaos god, his injuries, and his overall stress over the last two weeks hadn't helped, but he was glad to be outside on a sunny day.

He was going to consult with Luke about the game plan...but there was a rather large something that took presidence, and whose presence was strangely comfortable.]

When did we get a Bantha?

[Close friends of Lupin would realize that he was putting on a show.

More distant associates would only see an oddly energetic man who was injured recently, and that he wouldn't let it keep him down. Lupin was manning the table that would be their central base. It was covered with various papers and small bags around so he could keep track of who came and how the jobs were divided up. There was a large cooler not far away--he had been busy making plenty of sweet tea especially for occasion.

That wasn't to say that he didn't have a secret weapon.

Anyone caught slacking off by him would be treated to a random blast of water. Lupin was armed with watery ordinance, and he refused to let anyone know exactly what all he had.

[Boy he was waiting for that question...]

Yesterday. I requested him from the Malnosso. D'you like him?

[Beast has arrived on schedule for once, remembering full well his offer to Luke. He's as prepared as he could be, well-rested with all the strength Luceti allows him to lift and pull whatever needs to be moved... but when did Luke ever mention a giant thing of fur and horns being involved? Just kind of staring at it. It reminds him of himself, only having an elephant's body instead of a bear's. Even if it wasn't mentioned, how did he not notice this thing was in the village before?]

[Lupin laughs and leans up on the fence, careful because of his injury and 'condition'.]

I barely ever saw them even when I worked with you--city boy, all of that. He's really cool!

Well, now you've seen one up close. I've given him a bath in the river. He seemed a little surprised though, seeing that much water.

[Luke walks up with a wave]

D'you remember Bantha from the films we watched before? The Malnosso were ...gracious...enough to accept my request for one to help with this.

[How does a grown man ask to play with a really cool animal?]

[Ami had been doing her best to stay out of the way of, well, everything, while she's still getting used to finding herself randomly floating over the ground instead of keeping her feet firmly planted.

Planted. Of course she ends up at the farm, and of course it's the day Luke is busy doing planting himself. It makes for a red-faced Ami gently drifting by just overhead, probably trying to sneak past unnoticed.]

[Except its awfully hard to keep a presence that familiar and so long missed from a Jedi. Luke's head shoots up and his face breaks into an incredibly bemused grin as he sees a blushing Ami Mizuno floating overhead. Without so much as a second thought, he leaps up into the air and catches her in a tight hug, his weight sending them floating down to the earth]

Ami-chan! I've missed you!

[Oof! But Ami doesn't really mind; she's actually quite grateful for the whole 'floating down to the earth' part, because while flying, or at least gliding, is actually fascinating... she doesn't like that sense of being out of control.]

Luke! [She... definitely hadn't meant for them to crash, and she apologizes reflexively, but she's smiling too brightly to really be upset. It's a relief to see a familiar, friendly face.]

[Its really alright. Luke cushioned their landing with the Force anyway, so no harm done. One of the many perks of being a Jedi was that falling wasn't usually a thing. Luke just keeps on hugging though. Its been hard on him, without her. But...it was going to be harder to tell her all that had happen]

Are you injured? Should I...tie you down?

Could you...what? Pet it? Yes, go ahead. He's a pretty friendly, well domesticated Bantha.

[Ami shakes her head, and tries to reassure Luke.]

It really is alright. I'm fine; and I'm learning how to manage this.

[This would be much more effective if, despite her best intentions, her body wasn't already straining to get airborne again.]

Just let me get over there.

[It takes him a moment to figure out the how of getting over the fence. It was going to be harder than he thought with one fully functional arm and a crippled sense of balance.]

Somehow, I think that isn't the whole truth. But, in any event, I'm glad to see you.

[He releases her, from the hug]

You...have no idea how good it is to have you back. A lot has happened.

[That sets off a mild warning - it's Luceti, and a lot always seems to happen, but she takes it for a signal that she should pay attention.]

Tell me what's happened.

Its...a long story. Some of it you'll want to hear from Rei.

[His tone is a bit grave, and he doesn't want to dump all of it on her]

Anakin went home. And...there were some attacks. Mostly against my housemates, and Adele's.

The Third Party? [No... No, that doesn't seem right. Why would they target specific people?

But who would? Could it be Luke means some trouble in the village itself?]

No. Something happened. Some sort of dark god possessed Helios...while Obi-Wan and I were away on a mission. We...needed to clear our heads after Anakin departed.

[Luke shakes his head]

Nobody was killed, and another god in the village sealed Helios. But I'm afraid the ramifications are still dire.

[ Helios isn't actually here based on being offered. Adele or Luke somehow got him to come out of his apartment and participate. So, whelp, here he is. Or should be given the fact he wasn't really given a choice. He'll try to leave at some point because he feels awfully out of place and awkward which clearly shows as he is shifting and standing as far back from everyone as possible. Being surrounded by all the people he accidentally hurt a week ago will do that to you. So, yup, have an ill placed headmaster. He might slowly walk over to the Bantha at some point with a small smile on his features as he looks the beast over. He's never seen anything like that before and it's oddly endearing. ]
