A Game of Thorns
Who: Residents of House 6 and anyone who wants to find an excuse to be involved 8|a
What: Inconvenient Fairy Tale Side Effect #19
When: 5th September
Where: House 6
Summary: On day three of The Sleeping Navigator, the thorns finally arrive. Hope the house occupants didn't want to leave any time soon...
Rating: PG for swearing and violence against plant life?
[So thorns aren't really meant to grow that fast, right? It takes all of fifteen seconds for them to surge from the grass surrounds and wrap the house with a thick and impenetrable wall of spiky death.
...well, spiky inconvenience, anyway. Watch out, because they might make a few attempts to sneak into the house, too, and that could really mess with the paintwork. Violence against thorns is encouraged, but be careful: try cutting the main wall down and they'll spring back twice as thick a moment later, and those thorns are painful.
Meanwhile, Nami's dreaming of the best mikan cocktail ever made served up on top of her own personal mountain of gold. What's that? Wake up, now? Please.]
((Whether you're a resident of house 6, a visitor at house 6, or just passing by and want to take pictures, this log is open to you. |D))

masochistic tendenciesdetermination, Zoro plunged into the fray. His lower half, uncomfortably cocooned by the thorny mess, threatened to separate a good foot or two behind him. He reached for his swords. If he could get his hands around one, just one, he could be over and done with this stupid, nightmarish mess. But even as he tried tearing through the thorns with his bare hands, he could already see that he was a few growth spurts away from his goal. Zoro watched in silent frustration as the thorns slowly covered Wadou, Kitetsu, then, at last, Shuusui.
Damnit, where were those bastards when you needed them?]

The throns aren't really any problem for Miyabi to jump over and even onto, even while she's larger. Yoshpet was full of moving, writhing thorny walls like this, and she's been travelling through them all her life. So making onto the roof is...well, it'd hard with her new size, and Miyabi still has to hack down some unruly vines, but she makes it up in little time.]
Zoro?! What's happening here?! [Just one second, she'll have you free with a brush skill - Powerslash - the steel-like ink slicing through those vines like butter.] Where's everyone else? Is Nami okay?!

Miyabi's words caused something to click in his head, and he paused for a moment to consider it. Zoro looked to her, brow furrowed. Instinct told him that Nami's strange new condition had something to do with all this madness and the rest of him didn't seem interesting in disagreeing right now.] I'm not sure, but we'd better go downstairs before the thorns get inside the house. Nami should be in her room.
[At the very least, they might have to move her somewhere safe. The others could take care of themselves. Impatiently, Zoro made his way to the door, cutting around him as he went. If he seemed overly enthusiastic slicing at the thorny branches, well...]

Is she still asleep? [Uttered while following after Zoro, cleaning up any thorny vines that either grew back or shied away from the dancing blades. The thorns even try to separate the two, by making a wall as quick as they can between the two people.] Bah, these things are pretty smart...

Ah, shi--let me go! [Fuck, fuck, fuck, those thorns are tightening and it hurts and she can feel blood running down her arm, ow, ow...] Zoro!

The thorns surrounding them splinter and explode.] Are you ok? [A question of genuine concern, tinged with a sliver of impatience. Seeing Miyabi's arm reminded him that he was getting blood all over the handle of his sword. The sooner they ended things, the better.]
/hands you your honorary internet
Y-Yes...I'll be fine, th-thank you. [But they can't stand along for too long, those thorns are coming back for round two, and this time Miyabi's prone on shutting them out, injured or not. And though the thorns try to sneak back in, Miyabi hacks through them (wincing as she does), and finally slams the door shut and locks it.] Let's go, you're still hurt yourself, worse than I am.

[Down they go. It's a straight shot to Nami's room but with Zoro leading, who knows where they'll end up.]

[She's not entirely convinced, but Miyabi doesn't say anything else. She can worry about Zoro and her own arm later, Nami and the unruly thorns take precedence. She wobbily sheaths her own blade with her less dominant arm and follows after him. It's probably because she's so distracted with her thoughts that Miyabi doesn't make the connection of Zoro leading anything anywhere = BAD (even in his own home), so she merely goes along with him, unconcerned and unsuspecting.]
