"if growing up means It would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree;"
Who: Hiccup and whoever wants to come!
What: Camping!
When: November 10th-11th
Where: Southern Lake
Summary: Hiccup invited anyone who was interested to the lake for a little camping trip. Hijinks ensue!
Rating: Shenanigans
Early on the ninth, Hiccup broadcast a short message to the journal reminding everyone about the camping trip he had planned for the weekend. The message was simple: pack your things, meet at noon in the plaza, and then they'd trek to the southern lake where they would make camp for the night. It would be chilly, but with a dragon in tow and clear skies, how bad could it be? Hiccup flies out to the lake early on the tenth to transport some camping supplies including extra tents, blankets, sleeping bags and tarps, as well as some food, before heading back to meet his fellow campers.
At the campsite itself, campers can expect to find such things including (but not limited to): fishing poles, cooking equipment (and ingredients), marshmallows, board games, card games, various sports equipment, harmonicas, et cetera. And Hiccup will definitely be trying to round everyone up for at least one round of storytelling around the fire sometime during the evening. Basically, anything campy (pun intended) can go on here. Have fun with it!
Here goes one of Hiccup's rare attempts to be a social planner. Let's see if it sinks or swims!

[It was a little bit of a joke at Toothless' expense, but Green is not the greatest at carrying a joking tone.]

Ha, yeah, it would. Claws aren't ready handy at this kind of thing.

[Green sets down the bag he was carrying, getting out the supplies he brought. Lots of camping stuff, particularly a few extra bed rolls and tent canvases and poles.
He was somewhat expecting most of the people arriving to camp to not be properly prepared.]
no subject
[No offense, Ace.
Hiccup eyes the bundle of stuff - wow, he's really got the works there.]
Looks like you're ready for anything.

When do you plan on training with me?

no subject
But don't expect me to ease you into it. Be ready to jump right in.
no subject
[Though. Uh. Jumping right in is a little intimidating.]
no subject
[Wouldn't want to completely trash it with training, right? Green just starts walking for a more craggy area of the mountain slope.]
Alright, so your Pokémon is a dragon type. What moves does it currently know?
no subject
Uh, let's see...scratch, slash, scary face, dragon rage, dragon claw...and false swipe. I think that's it.
no subject
Okay, so it's a physical fighter. How well do you say that it takes hits?

[He'll let out Rhydon! And Rhydon will pick up a rock. WELP.]
Let's see what your first instincts tell you to do.
no subject
F-first instinct? Find out everything I can about that Pokemon?
no subject
Good first instinct, but you have to think quickly! Rhydon, throw it!
[It's not a Rock Throw attack, but that is a pretty big rock getting hurled!]
no subject
Kyle, jump out of the way!
no subject
...No this isn't even close to deep end.]
That's speed training! Rhydon, again!
no subject
Kyle, use Dragon Rage! [Maaaaybe attacking the boulder is the way to go about this?]
no subject
There you go! Take the hit!
[Rhydon slams its tail against the ground in a sweeping motion, flinging debris at Kyle.]
Now attack me!
no subject
A-alright, use a Dragon Claw, Kyle!

This is why training with other Pokémon is better. Even with going easy on it like this, it's learning what a fight's like more than it would otherwise.
You need to train yourself! When a trainer knows what their Pokémon experiences, and knows how to fight themselves, they can bond with their Pokémon. The trainer must be involved!
[Man look at all this shounen bullshit.]
no subject
Right! Right. I need to Battle more for sure.
no subject
I'll train you, the way I was trained. You've got no chance of failing with that instruction!
