Happy Happy Turkey Day

Summary: It's Thanksgiving. There's a meal and socializing. Also fun.
Rating: PG, PG-13 max? A kid got invited to this.
Considering how last minute all of this had been, Pepper was actually pretty satisfied with how things were turning out. Rogue had shown up early with helpers in tow, immediately setting to work in the kitchen. The house had been filled with delicious aromas shortly thereafter, and Pepper busied herself with the other details until guests started to arrive--at which point part of her job became keeping people out of the kitchen, per Rogue's orders.

The set up was straightforward: the dining room table was used to hold the assorted dishes, where people could fix themselves plates. A similar set up with drinks (although please, don't give alcohol to the children). Chairs set out for people to sit, since there were too many to even attempt a traditional sit down dinner. But that was fine by Pepper, who made her way through the group, making sure everyone was happy, or at least not destroying part of her house.

Better safe than sorry, with this crowd.

"If yer worried about her, I could leave." He'd ate. Said hi to maybe one new person. More than enough, right?

She gave him an amused smile. "We have barely been here an hour. But I suppose we could leave a little early. I don't think Pepper would mind too much."

[snikting]

"I'd just as soon avoid the clean up too." He'd be reluctant to leave Rogue alone, but she had Kurt. The elf was better company for her than Logan ever would be.

That gets her to frown in concern. She knows how tedious clean up can get after a big dinner, since helping out in that respect wasn't exactly a thought that crossed most people's minds. With one arm in a sling, though, she wouldn't be very helpful.

"Yes, but it's been quite a long day for Rogue, hasn't it? I would hate to leave her to the clean up..." So this is what it feels like to be pulled in two directions! Ororo sighs.

[snikting]

"Let the Avengers do it." Logan glanced over to the side of the table where that lot was hanging out. "They're the big time superheroes. Cleanup's part of the job."

[calmbeforethe]

Ororo chuckled, finally. "Yes, I suppose so. But I'm not sure I can imagine Tony Stark doing the dishes."

[snikting]

"Imagining's all you'll have to do. We leave now, we won't even have to see it."

[calmbeforethe]

Ororo shook her head, amused. He was really itching to go, wasn't he?

"All right. It's gotten a little too crowded for my taste, anyway." Not that she didn't like the people gathered here, but crowds tended to make her uncomfortable.
