frost_jewel: (irritated)

[Once, on their ragtag journey across the world, one of Mia's friends had made a few silly choices and his punishment was a (mild) case of altitude sickness. As she tries to make her way through the narrow halls of the fortress, Mia thinks this might have been what it was like. If so, she feels much more sympathy now than she did at the time. The worst part was how it faded in and out, waves of nausea and a strange limp moving in and out like the ocean.

Lying on one of the too-crowded-in bunks doesn't help, and Mia doubts a trip to find food will do her much good either. A shower in this place is out of the question. Occasionally the feeling is intense enough to stop her cold - and anyone who sees her in those moments will find her leaning on the wall trying not to huddle - but fades just as fast into nothing.

It's very frustrating. Mia grits her teeth and tries to work around it, looking for her housemates and friends among the other draftees.]
