The Sky Island they were on was thrumming with living energy - the press of the emotions and presences of multitudes of people on his senses nearly too much. Not that there was just people to sense... there was something else, energy like a deep current teasing his perceptions. Strange, alien, it reminded him a little of what he felt in the portal room.
