For the first time a in a while, a New Feather Party is taking place! Everyone has been working hard, making sure that everything is ready for the big day. The school cafeteria is decorated with streamers, some spring flowers and a hand-painted Welcome banner, placed right where everyone can see it. Most of the foods are simple party snacks: cakes, cookies, sandwiches and the like. However, Rin has hauled over a grill and is providing some cooked foods.

The most important part is the booths. The various organizations in Luceti have been invited to set up booths and tables in order to recruit new members and to inform the new feathers of their existence. There's even a general information booth, run by Marita Covarrubias, so New Feathers can ask any questions they have about Luceti. After all, when adjusting to a new place, information about your surroundings is the most important thing!

Near the end of the party, once it's a little darker out, there's even a small fireworks show. It's a nice way a party. After all, who doesn't like fireworks?

Oh... I guess those would be kind of different, huh? I'm used to thinking of parties as things like birthday parties or these New Feather parties. Actually, we do have school festivals sometimes too, but it's been a while since the last time we had one of those.

[Birthday parties. It feels like she just found out about her childhood moments ago, and actual pain flares in her chest.]

Some of us do. But there are always people leaving and new people arriving, too.

That's right. There's no way to predict who's going to go home when. Some people stay a long time, but others go home after just a few months.

But you...you remember them, once they have gone.

[It isn't quite like the village loses the need for them, right?]

Of course. I would never forget any of the people I've met here.

[At least that can be something of a comfort.]

I am sure it sounds harder than it is, to remember.

Not really. All I have to do is think of all of the good times I had with them while they were here. It's pretty hard to forget things like that.

Then again, she had very few good times to remember.]

It's for Brave Vesperia-- it's a guild that does things to help people around the village out.

How noble of you. What help do you offer?

Anything people want done, really. We've built buildings on request before, but we'll also do stuff like look for missing items.

[The village here is less developed and crowded than her home, that's for certain; one of the things that highlights the difference is the lack of buildings, other than the towering dorm-apartment setups.]

I have been looking for somewhere to dance.

... what about the barracks? It's got a lot of empty space to move around in. It would be perfect for that kind of thing.

Does it have mirrors and music? [They are not essential but they sure help a lot, especially for someone who is getting out of practice.]

No, but we could put some in if you wanted. It wouldn't be that hard to hang mirrors up there.

I don't know! The Academy practice rooms existed long before I arrived.
