For the first time a in a while, a New Feather Party is taking place! Everyone has been working hard, making sure that everything is ready for the big day. The school cafeteria is decorated with streamers, some spring flowers and a hand-painted Welcome banner, placed right where everyone can see it. Most of the foods are simple party snacks: cakes, cookies, sandwiches and the like. However, Rin has hauled over a grill and is providing some cooked foods.

The most important part is the booths. The various organizations in Luceti have been invited to set up booths and tables in order to recruit new members and to inform the new feathers of their existence. There's even a general information booth, run by Marita Covarrubias, so New Feathers can ask any questions they have about Luceti. After all, when adjusting to a new place, information about your surroundings is the most important thing!

Near the end of the party, once it's a little darker out, there's even a small fireworks show. It's a nice way a party. After all, who doesn't like fireworks?

Oh! Like, totally! In a place like this it can be kind of hard to feel useful for some people so just the chance is really great!

[It's not like she's talking about herself or anything. Not at all. She starts to look over one of the posters again, having looked at one only briefly the other day before asking Caius about setting up a booth.]

Soooo, just what does Brave Vesperia do?

[Yessss, this is just what he wanted, people asking about the guild! And the party hasn't even started yet, either. Score one for him!]

Whatever people want us to do, basically. We're here to help out, so that can be anything from building buildings to helping people clean out their house or find something that they lost.

So...You're like handymen? Or something like that?

[Brave Vesperia didn't sound very "brave" to her if that's the kind of thing they did. She decides to keep that to herself, too. It's not a very nice thing to say after all.]

It does sound like you guys do a lot of really helpful stuff...You all must stay like, super busy!

I... guess that really is sort of what we are now. I'm not sure how Yuri would feel about that, though...

[Sob. At least Yuri isn't here to complain about being labeled the "Build Guild."]

Actually... we've hardly had any jobs at all lately. I mean, it's good that people don't need that much help, but it also means there's nothing for us to do.

O-oh...That is a problem, I guess. Have you guys ever done any projects on your own? Like, a guild project or something?

...I-It's not really the same thing, but sometimes clubs and stuff at school back home would do stuff to, you know, let people know they were around. Oh, but...maybe a guild counts as a project all on its own or something.

You mean doing something without being asked by someone to do it?

[... huh. He'd never considered something like that before, but the more that he thinks about it, the more sense it makes.]

So, it'd be like a demonstration, just to show the kind of things the guild can do. That's a great idea! I bet it would help if people could see what we can do for themselves. Otherwise all they can do is listen to what we tell them.

[She hadn't actually thought too far into it when she said it, but...]

Yeah! Yeah, something like that! Plus, when nothing is going on, people are always looking for something interesting to check out so I bet you'd get a lot of attention for the guild that way!

I don't know if people would want us trying to build something in a public place, though...

[His first thought went to something along the lines of erecting a small shed or something in the plaza.]

Maybe you could build small things! Like...a big birdhouse or something. I mean, even big birdhouses aren't that big, right? Or...Or like a bench or something!

Or you could show people the stuff you've built before now! I bet you've done lots of stuff in the past, right?

Hey, that's a really good idea! Maybe we could build some benches to put around the plaza! I mean, sure, we've built stuff in the past, but most of it is kind of out of the way. It'd be nice to have something to show people that's right there.

That makes sense. Not a lot of people will want to hike out to somewhere for a demonstration...but I'm sure a lot of people could appreciate benches! It can't be comfortable sitting on the edge of the fountain all the time...

[Pilouette can't help but smile. She's happy that she's able to be of some help here after all.]

Maybe you could let people help out a little bit in the demonstration, too! If they get to help out, maybe they'll be more likely to join the guild!

That's perfect! Get people interested by giving them a chance to try getting involved... I can't believe I didn't think of that before. Of course they'd be more interested if they got to try working on one of the projects for themselves.

Yeah, see-

[Wait, what?]

Huh?! Me? Uh...w-well, I'm not actually that good with like, build-y stuff and I'm not very strong or anything s-so I don't know if I'd really be much help...

Don't worry, we do a lot of things besides just building stuff! You know, like finding things, maybe helping people weed their garden or paint a house... whatever they need to be done. Anyone can join as long as they want to help out.

["...as long as they want to help." Pilouette thinks about this for a second. As someone who is pretty average and lacking much skill, especially compared to many people in the enclosure, she's always looking for news ways that she can help out and contribute. Emil does really seem to want new members. And if it will let her help out more...]

...Well...I guess it would be nice to have new ways to help people out. And if there are other things you do besides building, maybe...

[After a few more brief moments of thought, she smiles broadly and nods.]

...Okay! I'm in!

[Emil wouldn't exactly call himself the skilled type either-- most of what he can do boils down to cooking and the occasional odd task. Fighting doesn't really count, since it's Ratatosk who takes care of all of that for him. But if Yuri trusted him to run Brave Vesperia, then he's going to do his best!]

Great! I'm sure we can find plenty of ways for you to help. And besides, you might even be able to learn how to do some new things in the process. I didn't know the first thing about building stuff before I joined, and now I'm pretty good with a hammer and nails.

It would be nice to learn how to do more stuff...Knowing how to do lots of things really comes in handy in a place like this, after all. I'll do my very best to learn, but until then I'll do whatever I can to help out! E...Even though I'm still not really good at very much.

What kind of things would you want to learn how to do? You know, just so I can keep it in mind for later.

...A-Actually, I'm not sure. Now that I think about it, I think that since I got here, I've just been learning things as they came up.

[She laughs sheepishly.]

I-I should probably be thinking about that kind of thing...!

[Emil laughs too, since he's been pretty much the same way ever since he arrived. He hasn't set out to learn anything in particular; he's just sort of picked up skills here and there.]

That's okay-- there's nothing wrong with that, either. Sometimes that's the best way to learn things you never knew you'd be interested in.

Well, I'll just do my best to learn whatever I can! Since I don't know anything about building things, I bet I'll learn a lot of stuff no matter what happens!

Exactly! And if you do think of anything in particular you want to learn, just let me know. I'm sure I can find someone here who could teach you how to do it.
