[ On the first day, Rapunzel opens up shop in the bakery as usual. At first, things go as they normally do. She bakes batches of cinnamon rolls, bun, sweet rolls, doughnuts, pastries and more, and it's only the appearance of customers with large wings (and some unusual temperaments) that tips her off that something bigger is going on. And then a strange woman comes into the bakery and has the nerve to start putting price tags on her baked goods!
Though, she begins to realize, maybe this isn't such a bad idea. She was giving away an awful lot here for free, and what was she getting out of it? Sure, some kindness and friendship, but she wanted more. She knew she could get more, with her devoted base of customers. They would do what she wanted, and she would give them what they wanted. That was only fair and natural. She'd been doing this wrong all along. It felt great, and she somehow didn’t even mind the change in her wings. Black seemed to suit her for once.
As the days go by, the power starts to go to her head. Rapunzel curbs the supply of her goods, reserving special selections only for those people who can grant her the biggest favors in return. She's willing to hear new offers, but her prices aren't cheap. A couple hours of manual labor for a batch of her delicious chocolate chip cookies, or maybe a new, ruby-encrusted headband for her legendary apple pie. What do you have to offer?
Rapunzel will also start attempting to hire henchmen, as well. She's so busy being the powerful queen of the bakery mafia, that she doesn't have time to waste on more trivial matters. When she’s not delegating orders, she will be baking, greeting her beloved customers and giving the cold shoulder to those less welcome.
Part of her knows she's getting caught up, but she welcomes it all the same. This was keeping the happiest people around her, because they wanted to please her, and it meant they wouldn’t leave her, either. They needed her. It was nice to be needed. It was nice to drive the loneliness away. ]
