The reaction hurts, both in a way he doesn't understand and in a way that he does. He wants her, but he doesn't want her. It was all wrapped up in a confusing contradictions of emotions. He was attracted, either way, but there was a pull while he was like this what was a push when he wasn't.

This whole thing was off and wrong.
