It's kindaaa a little bit of both. Like you know what I was saying about eleth and all that? Well, my shotstaff has a device that draws power from eleth inside of it! You can use the eleth the weapon sucks up to use cryas artes. You just have to concentrate, say a few words, yadda yadda yadda, and boom!
